I have had it under a heat lamp for about a week. Will it ever dry out?
Liquid is like acid for electronics. I’m pretty sure it’s gone.
They say if it is completely dried out when you try it again, it should work. But if those little contacts had dust on them and the wet turned it into mud….. That is too bad, I have a Fujitsu and it is great.
I had a gameboy that I did the same thing, it dried out..and works.
@HearTheSilence I disagree about the Acid – I once ran my IPOD through the wash (OK twice with two different models) and I wrapped it up in a towel and kept it in my dresser. One took 4 weeks and the other took almost a year but eventually they came back to life.
Point being there is always a chance that being kept dry and with time it could come back.
Rice is a great absorber of moisture*. See if you can wrap the scanner with paper towel, then seal it in a plastic bag containing a cup or two of rice. Leave it alone for a few days. The moisture should transfer to the rice, and maybe the scanner will work.
*This is the reason some people put rice with salt in a salt shaker.
