Oh, shit, here we go, hahaa..
Bwahaha. It ain’t the 70’s anymore, kiddo.
LOL! 70’s is right. But I do still have one that I macramed back then.
Wow. Have not thought of macrame in a really long time. Blast from the past. Seems like crafty things are more in than ever, surprised it has not had a come back.
@Samantha_Rae here is a whole bunch of photos. If you google macrame lots of stuff comes up.
@AmWiser LMAO! No, I think she is just probably too young to know. Was not around for the trend maybe?
Haha exactly @JLeslie… you hit the nail on the head. It sounds familiar but I don’t know what it is! And I should have written “what’s macreme” not with a “d”
Wow, it’s been a couple of decades since I made one of those.
I actually just bought a box of 1970s craft magazines for a quarter at Goodwill. There are several lovely brown and orange jute projects for big plant hangers and those fun owl wall hangings!
I did a really cool hanging fish bowl in the late 80’s. Because of the whole fish thing it came across as more of a nautical fish net type theme rather than a retro 70’s thing. It made a great lamp/focal point hanging in the corner of the bedroom.
Yes, many crafters and artisans in San Francisco make them and sell them in the shops there.
@Samantha_Rae Just in case you don’t know, it is pronounced mack-crah-may.
@JLeslie: thanks! i actually know the word, but didn’t know what it was until today. :)
So odd! My husband and I were just joking about those today. We were talking about crafts we used to do in school during the holidays for parents. I made one of those in 5th grade!
@cak It does my heart good to se you posting so much on here and FB again!
@janbb I does my heart good to interact, again! Thanks for being so wonderful. :)
