Can you narrow it down some more? Children’s movies, comedy, mystery, drama? Or all of them?

Russter's avatar

anything other than a children movie. My wife and I just need a good movie to watch tonight.

Does it have to have a happy ending?

Do you like suspenseful, intellectual, spectacular, romantic, quirky? Do you want something with no blood, no sex, no offbeat weird stuff?

I have seen quite a few good movies from Netflix recently, but again, your tastes have to figure in.

A Beautiful Mind was a very good movie.

If you like fashion, Valentino’s movie The Last Emporer was fantastic. The man is a true artist.

I just mentioned Pay it Forward on another Q; if you have never seen it that is very good also.

The ‘no R rating’ is really stumping me. Apparently all my favorite movies are R-rated..

Ah, finally, one that’s PG-13.. The Invention of Lying was hilarious and brilliant.

The Green Zone was good too, not sure what it was rated? Matt Damon starred in it, I love him so I am partial.

Didn’t A Beautiful Mind win the Best Picture Academy Award? I don’t think that counts as lesser know. Yeah, Titanic is another good not well known movie.

chyna's avatar

@simone54 Yeah, having a hard time with the non-R rating aspect.

“The five people you meet in heaven.”

Excellent, poignant flick about a man who thinks his life has been a waste until he dies and is walked back through his life to see all the connections he missed and how they led to the perfect end. Really good little movie!

I know it might be a little late now but my favorite movie is Speak. Speak is a 2004 American independent film based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Laurie Halse Anderson. It stars a then 13-year-old Kristen Stewart as Melinda Sordino, a high school freshman who practically stops talking after being raped by an upperclassman. The film is told through Melinda’s eyes and is wrought with her sardonic humor and blunt honesty.

Rated PG-13

I don’t know how well known it is (since none of my friends know about it), but La Vita E Bella is one of my favorite films and I think you would thoroughly enjoy it.
