Yup noticed it but didn’t read it until now! Here’s hoping the format doesn’t change! I like mixing things up a bit, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!!
Lets hope Ben and Andrew stay around to make things ok!!

Though I am glad that the Fluther team is moving on up to bigger and better things (if Twitter can be seen as that), I am worried about what this will mean for Fluther – it’s a lot of work to maintain and as amazing as Augustlan is, that’s too much work for one person. But, so life goes…change happens…I’ve had a foreboding about this for some time…

I’d be happy except for: ” We won’t be developing it as we’re now focused on Twitter…”

@J0E – Exactly, what happens if the database needs work or a server does down? Pretty sure Lisa can’t really handle that. Hopefully someone sticks around that can at least keep the servers running.

I I’m going out on the limb here to say I’m not getting a good vibe here. I’s feel an overcrowded sea comin’ about. JMHO.

I don’t know what to say. I think Fluther is great, is useful and has (had) a great future, but I think Twitter is pointless. I joined Twitter for all of five minutes before I realized what a waste of time it is. People follow total strangers based on nothing but their photograph for the sole purpose of hoping that person will follow them so they have a big number of followers. No one cares much about what anyone else says on there. Most people seem to just be tweeting (speaking) into a vacuum, whereas here we are actually interacting for a purpose. I still have people follow me on Twitter and I haven’t tweeted in years. It’s just silly and only good for advertising, if even that.

Boy am I bummed and wondering why I chose this week to come back here. :(

I am very saddened and feel that this will mean a slow death for Fluther.

I’m bummed, but I’m going to see where the ride goes first.

and I still want Jelly Claus. So there. :(

I just hope that when it all goes down the pooper, we’ll be able to save our content somehow…or I gotta start looking through all my responses, Fluther helped me so much in putting certain things down and finding words for them.

Hey guys. Just want to reassure you that “no new development” doesn’t mean no support whatsoever. Fluther will still be a labor of love for the guys, it just won’t be their day job. The site should be able to continue, as is, for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, I’m going to be here full-time, as always, along with the ever-dedicated mod team. Try not to panic, ok!

@augustlan Very hard not to panic. (especially because I went through something like this with wis.dm and know how it all goes poof.) As I was saying on the other thread, I wonder if there’s talk or a consideration for volunteers to join you in an effort to help.

I think this sucks and I don’t think Fluther will last long now, without full time technical support. It will be fine until something goes wrong. I hope there are other places to go because I really don’t want to go back to Answerbag.

Well, I support Augustlan regardless of how I might feel about the situation and I’ll be sticking around. I hope that Dr. Jelly will continue to be around, doing his jelly thing, because my avatar’s unrequited love for him is a large part of why I’m here. That and the fact that I lurve you guys.

My understanding is that the technical/mechanical staff have extra jobs making Twitter better somehow, and that they will still be able to keep Fluther running simultaneously with the help of new staffers dedicated specifically for Fluther, and that Fluther otherwise will not change?

@augustlan So, say we wanted to volunteer to help out, but really don’t have any techie know-how (at least, the kind that would be helpful to you). What could we do to help you?

Oh my, so this is what I missed today that everyone is worried about… not sure what to think.

I’ve expressed most of my thoughts privately with the mods and staff.
But I will say that I am excited about this. I’m incredibly glad they landed jobs with Twitter. They seriously, seriously, deserve it.

Fluther is not dying. Hell. Fluther was mentioned on the TWITTER BLOG. Do you know how many people read that? Add to that all of the tech blogs that’re talking about it. Fluther will continue to grow.

I’m going to be around for it. I hope all of you will also.

I think the best thing we of the non-technical variety can do is carry on, doing what we do. Being great members of an awesome community! Don’t forget to ask, answer and flag, guys. We lurve you! <3
