I want to know why some people seem to HATE Justin Bieber.
People really do not have a reason to hate Justin Bieber, in my opinion. But I want to know what others think. Did he do something that upset you? Why do you hate him SO much?

I am just utterly indifferent to him.
I think it’s cause he’s young and got discovered from Youtube so people are jealous?
and maybe cause there’s so much unessecary (spelling?) hype about him.
I personally like his music
I don’t hate him, I hate how his fans push him on me and claim that he’s great and brilliant and new and looks really hot while shunning lesbians. Same as Lady Gaga.
A safe bet is because of how annoying he is on a scale from 1 to 10.
How annoying is that? About 800.
Like @marinelife I am ridiculously apathetic about anything the Bieb does.
But to answer your question, there could be several reasons:
1. People tend to get jealous of other peoples’ success.
2. His music sucks (I can argue that this is quantifiably true and has been proven by science, but it’s really just subjective).
3. His music is infinitely more listenable when slowed down 800%
4. He’s a teenie-bopper bubblegum fad that will fade into obscurity just like the dozens of other cute, hardly talented, ambiguously sexual teen stars that came before him.
But apparently, there are people who want to listen to him, and thus he has a market and will continue to produce “music” until his market niche no longer needs to be filled… and I’m not one to argue with the market. ;-)
I think he is a cute young thing. I too have wondered why he has inspired such animosity except for jealousy (bald guys hate him for his hair, not too attractive guys hate him cuz he is cute and adorable, the list goes on.) It does embarrass me for the young females who seem to go into a state of mass hysteria when he is around.
He’s cute but he makes some terrible music. (Does he even make it? He probably just performs it.)
Others find him annoying because they know that no one would listen to his music if he weren’t cute. He is a product and a commodity and not an artist.
@absalom, He is a product and a commodity and not an artist.
You put that so much more beautifully and succinctly than I could.
I think he’s ugly and sounds like a girl.
I’m not sure what sucks more, the music lyrically or the actual music.
okay. he actually is very talented. listen to him singing on his youtube videos before he was famous. pure, raw talent. but some of you are telling me “he sucks at singing”... so are you telling me you hate everyone who cant sing well? and his FANS have NOTHING to do with why you hate HIM. just HIM.
@Julietxx3 Not everyone is going to agree on who’s good at singing – or anything else, for that matter.
I’m telling you that I don’t hate him. I do dislike his fans, but they aren’t the same thing, and I’ve never hated on Justin for his fans actions.
@Julietxx3 I don’t hate him, but I don’t like him.
Please don’t ask a question about our opinions if you’re only going to tell us that we are wrong.
My son says he’s not a good singer. He sounds weird. He hates his voice. He was better when he was younger.
My daughter says people think he sings like a girl. They don’t like how he sounds because they aren’t used to it. They hate that he is popular. People are jealous of him. She liked him when she was in sixth grade before he got popular.
It’s like suddenly he was everywhere and he wasn’t anyone’s special find. Everyone knows who he is now. Annoying. Just too popular.
She used to watch him on Youtube when he was like 10 or something.
I don’t know him, I don’t hate him. I do not care for his music. It’s not my cup of tea. I dont get the hype. He does seem like a lot of the overly produced teen popstars that have been down this road before him.
Maybe his music will mature, maybe one day I will be a Beibs Fan. It isn’t happening today, though.
Don’t worry about others, if you. Like him, enjoy the music.
I’m wondering why you chose to listen to the opinions of people who express such strong negative feelings towards the latest in a long, long line of pop music performers.
I think he has the annoying voice of a pre-pubescent child and stupid hair. He seems like a nice enough kid every little snippet I’ve seen of him. I’m a thirty year old woman though… if I was 12 I would probably be swooning.
One thing people can agree on is if someone has talent or not. are you saying some people do not think Christina Aguilera is a great singer, because if they dont… they need their ears checked. and its not if you like the persons songs or not. its their actual voice
Well, now I’m just concerned for the future generations.
@Julietxx3 As a general rule, people can agree on exactly nothing.
I think Christina Aguilera has a great voice that is wasted on most of her songs that are designed to sell lots of albums, not be good.
@rangerr But you weren’t before?
@Julietxx3 “One thing people can agree on is if someone has talent or not.”
Actually, that’s not true at all. You think the Beibster is talented. I think he sings like an average child. Neither of us are wrong, we just believe different things.
“Okay, fine. I hate Justin Beiber because I’m insecure and I have a small penis and I’m afraid that nobody will ever love me and I’m a bad person who should feel bad. Can I go home now?”
But yeah, Christina Aguilera is a good singer. She can hit like, a billion octaves and she doesn’t need autotune or any of that bullshit. Justin is just… well. Fuck. His music is really cliche’. Again, this is all subjective territory here, but I have a really hard time taking an “artist” seriously when they use the word “baby” over and over again. Same reason I don’t like Soulja Boy (who wrote a song called “Doodoo Head”) or any of the other thousands of “artists” who sing about the same damn subjects using the same damn words and imagery.
oh, and I don’t really have a small penis.
@rangerr Damn, now you’re making me all hot ‘n bothered
I’m sorry @papayalily I am not trying to tell you all that you are wrong, I just get very frustrated with this topic and STRONGLY disagree with most of you. but thank you for answering my questions.
@Julietxx3, now keep in mind we don’t mean to scare you off of Fluther, either. Would you mind sharing with us some details about your love for Justin so we can maybe understand where you are coming from more? How old are you, if you don’t mind my asking, of course?
@Julietxx3: shall we start with his hair and work our way up, or his voice and personality and work our way down?
okay I am 14 years old, and I am not going to lie.. I was not a justin Bieber fan until recently.. i thought all of his songs were auto-tuned.. but then my friend showed me his videos from before he was famous and i was shocked.. i liked his songs but i just didnt like the idea that it wasnt his real voice.. until i learned it was… i always thought he was cute, so it has nothing to do with looks, for me at least. but i see where you all are coming from i just dont get why you HATE him as if he offended you…. but thanks.
@Julietxx3 But, I don’t think any of us does hate him. Rather, I think you think we hate him.
@papayalily, I don’t think any of us does hate him. Rather, I think you think we hate him.
That’s what I was going to say.
and justin has a great personality @bolwerk , he gives a lot to chairty and actually grew up with not too much money… listen to his song “Pray” . he also cares a lot about his fans and is really sweet.
@Dutchess_III He’s the new N’Sync/Backstreet Boys/Ricky Martin (or at least, that’s who it was when I was that age).
sorry i meant to send that response before about not telling you you were wrong to @rangerr not @papayalily sorry.
Some people have ears….and decent taste in music….I’ve never been a fan of teenage pop music, honestly.
@Julietxx3 That’s just his opinion. Opinions are seriously allowed here.
I have no opinion on Justin Biber whatsoever. This is a grown-up site, and I think most of us feel the same way. No feelings, nothing. I certainly don’t hate the child. Although, if you’d asked me my opinion of Donny Osmond when we were both 13 I would have been awash in longing and love, and utterly speechless. Now, however, I have no opinion of him any more, either.

Wow…this is kind of crazy. I was just meandering through this thread and @Julietxx3, whom we’ve never met before and who has never, ever met any of us, assumes that we all hate Justin Beiber! She’s said, ”...i just dont get why you HATE him as if he offended you” and …“I just get very frustrated with this topic and STRONGLY disagree with most of you” and wow. I don’t believe that we’ve ever even mentioned JB’s name before on here! This is kind of an odd way to introduce yourself to a community that you know absolutely nothing about!
@Dutchess_III , I was asking this to people who actually hate JB. Because as you can see there are people who really dont like him and they can’t stand him. And I think I can ask any question I want to ask. If this “is and odd way to introduce [myself] to a community that [I] know absolutely nothing about!” then your just going to have to get over it.
LOL! Yes’mam!
Look hard at this thread again. So far I haven’t seen one single person say that they can’t stand JB personally. A few have said he’s nothing but a cute teenage bebopper fad, like hundreds before him, and they don’t care particularly care for his music (they all lean more sophisticated music—which happens when you grow up,) all of which is opinion and preference not a statement of actual dislike of the kid himself. The vast, vast majority of everyone is saying they couldn’t care less about him, one way or the other. Go back and try to find one quote from anyone here that suggests they “can’t stand” him personally.
The only reason he’s being talked about at all is because of this question. Trust me…we don’t have long involved discussions about Justin Biber here!! Laughing!
Now, Ms. @Julietxx3. Let’s talk about something a little more interesting. What do you think of Barak Obama being 2010’s most admired man? Fluther Q

who keeps flagging my responses. like. honestly . stop. if you cant handle it, then go away.
LOL! It’s one of the Moderators, @Julietxx3! They, like, own and manage the site. I don’t think they’re going anywhere. Damn grown ups. Yeah. Two of them got recruited by Twitter recently. But not the best one. Who is the one who spanked you.
If you really care to put this discussion back on track then again, find a post up there where anyone said they couldn’t stand Justin Bieber personally or who “hated” him. Just cut and paste their answers along with their user name, and be sure to put it in context. All I’ve seen are users who said they don’t have any feelings one way or the other about Justin Bieber. And they all quit following a loooong time ago.

It’s nothing personal against the kid, I just don’t understand the appeal of being a teen pop idol. Maybe I’m just weird because when I was 13 and all of my friends had N’Sync posters covering their bedroom walls in a stalker-ish fashion, my bedroom only had 2 posters, Slipknot on my closet, and Korn on the back of my door.
@cheebdragon—Heh! You don’t know how many Korn CD’s got nuked in my microwave LOL!
But..you didn’t really expect the entire rest of the world to feel the same way you did about N’Sync, did you? Did you get all defensive when adults just shook their heads in tolerant bemusement? I certainly never expected my folks to love Donny Osmond’s music, or Led Zep or any other music I liked.
Because this young lady is really a little girl, she can’t have any idea what it was like to have experienced teeny boppers like Shaun Cassidy or the Backstreet Boyz or even Elvis. She’s completely living in her own little world that has no other people in it except other 14 to 16 year old kids. There’s a whole other world out there full of grown ups and talented people (and you really have to look hard to figure out who those talented folks are), because they are all marketed as if they actually had talent, it’s like the Charlie Sheen syndrome. If she’d just look out her window and try to experience some of it she might be able to distinguish talent from hype. There’s nothing particularly bad about Justin Bieber (and yes, re-read the whole thread to notice that no one said they hate him), it’s just that he’s so derivative and is a product of mass media, so that he doesn’t seem real, he seems very fake. He actually went on Oprah Winfrey’s show and when she asked him why he had bandaids all over his fingers he said, “Because Michael Jackson did.” He had no idea why Michael Jackson put bandages on his fingers, he just did it because someone else did. That’s not cool, it’s foolishness.
There’s plenty of young people who spend their whole lives in actual drama and dance classes and take it very seriously, but because they don’t get a particular break because they don’t know someone, or don’t have Beatle-haircut that was blow-dried forward (so that they could claim it looked like something totally new and original, not) they didn’t get to be the current IT boy or girl.
I get that you are only 14, but please look beyond your age and see what is out there and realize that your opinions alone, do not make the world go around. Grow up and stop being so childish. You are a teenager, on the brink of adulthood. If you want to go online and get adult opinions then, stick with fluther, but don’t act so childish and continue to tell people that they are mean and rude, it just makes you sound very immature. And don’t play the bullying card either. We all know what it means to bully someone. No one has ever done that to you on fluther. You might just want to look up the legal term of “bullying” before you throw it around so loosely. If you can’t find the definition, I’ll get a few of my lawyer friends on here to explain it, and they’ll also explain the terms “libel” and “defamation” to you. You don’t seem to understand adult discourse. If you don’t like conversing with adults (which is something you should get used to at your age) then go on a site like Nick at Night or the Disney Channel blog.
And once again, you might want to show this to your parents, becuase you said they trusted you online, but maybe they’d change their tune if they saw what you’ve been saying. Show it to them.
