Who's the first person you usually call on Christmas Day?

Asked by ucme (50047points) December 22nd, 2010

Family or friend? I mean for me it’s a no brainer, I call my Mother. Assuming she hasn’t rang me first of course. How about you then? Who receives your initial festive call?

Well it use to be my Grandma but now I stay with her Christmas Eve night and see her that morning so I guess my dad

I always spend the night at my parents’ place on Christmas Eve, so I can wake up with them on Christmas Day. The fiance and I have been together for 9 years and living together for 6, but we still stay at our own “homes” for Christmas. Neither of us is willing to give that up, and we’re cool with it – it’ll probably stay that way until we have kids of our own.

So I call him, if he hasn’t called me first.

Usually it’s my mother, but I call her everyday in my prayers and dreams. But I guess this year I’ll be waiting for everybody to call me at my dads house.

Depending on where my daughter is, she is first. She’s either with me or my ex-husband. Other than her, my mother would be first, then my sister.

Considering I still spend most of my Christmases with all my family, I truly have no one to call except my friends. But I usually greet them and wish them a happy Christmas via Facebook or other online means. Gotta’ love modern day technology.

Honestly, I’m not the biggest phone guy, either. If you got my text with good wishes, that’s enough for me; you don’t need to hear my voice.

My Mom, most definitely. Then I wait for my children to call me.:D

My grandma. Well, actually, she usually calls me first. We talk on the phone a lot though, so it’s not really special, but she likes Xmas so I make an effort lol. Then she’s all like, ho, you’d best visit my ass for I die. Then I’m like bitch, you live across the ocean. Then she’s all like, so what, ya lazy jackass?
My grandma rules lol.

I’m exaggerating, but we’re always like that, and since she gets all hyper and excited on Xmas, our phone convos get all that more intense.

Otherwise, it’s my two best friends, but it’s usually to make plans to find out who’s going where and what to bring and a buncha addresses and Sym, try not to talk about horror movies too much while we’re there haha.
