Before you cry, does your body give you physical warnings?
Or do you feel a certain way?
For me, I can literally feel my heart pounding in my chest, and I get hot, and I don’t really hear things anymore, like I’m there, and I know what’s going on, but I’m not.

My throat knots up and sometimes it hurts pretty badly, and my face also gets hot. That generally only happens if I’m in public or about to cry in front of someone. When I’m alone, I just let the tears flow if I need to.
I think it depends on the reason I’m crying, but sometimes my throat tightens, and sometimes my salivary glands go into overdrive.
When I’m about to cry my nose and eyes get annoyingly itchy.
My throat tightens and I feel pressure on my chest, like pain in my heart.
My throat tightens and I feel a tingly sensation in the sinuses below my eyes, as well as in my nose, then a slight burning sensation in my eyes as the tears start to come (even if I hold them back).
Throat constriction, inability to breathe or swallow then waves of a sort of dizzy sensation throughout my body. I can’t describe it well but it’s very recognizable when it happens.
And yes, the rush of heat to my face and sounds drowned out by white noise.
Can’t stand the whole process. Makes me want to stab a steak knife into my thigh for distraction.
yeh I get the sinking cold feeling inside and a hot face…If i am trying really hard not to cry i tend to shake and twitch like a total spaz. I hate it. @Blueroses yeh I often wonder how other people distract themselves once its got to the “Oh fuck i am going to burst out crying somewhere inappropriate” situation
My throat tends to tighten up a lot, so much that it hurts.
my face gets all tingly and my throat feels like its pushing something out of it.
