With the new inflow of users, will the guidelines be temporarily (or permanently) relaxed?

Asked by bob_ (21940points) December 22nd, 2010

Being modded can be frustrating, especially for people who are not familiar with how we roll around here. Will the rules be relaxed for a week or two, so people can get the gist of things without getting all “HEY MAN WHAT THE HELL, WHAT ABOUT MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND STUFF, LOL”?

Nope.

Seriously man, how hard is it to take a little peek at the guidelines? I mean, it’s not like we are asking them to strip naked and sign over their pension. ~ ;)

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@Dog Ok, but could we? Because I could use both more porn and more moneys.

bob_'s avatar

@papayalily Who doesn’t?

Dog's avatar

Okay now that my silly answer is out of the way I just want to say that that this newest batch of Jellies are pretty awesome and seem to have no issues with the guidelines. :D

@bob_ I dunno, rich people who get laid?

bob_'s avatar

@papayalily Yeah, ‘cause rich people who get laid are not greedy bastards.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@bob_ I didn’t say they would agree with me.

I’m glad they’re not going to relax the guidelines, temporarily or otherwise.

If that happened, I’d have far fewer opportunities to flag the shit out of some threads – I don’t want my fun spoiled!

I’m here to assist. Newbies can PM (Private Massage Message) me
from 1400–1600 daily – Israel time – for online Fluther assistance.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@seazen And us vets will just continue to private massage you.

seazen's avatar

Thank you. It can have a happy end too, for a change.

Not only should we keep guidelines intact, we should also apply some firm but gentle S&M dominatrix whips on rule-breakers. ~

Blueroses's avatar

@prolificus I volunteer for that role!

bob_'s avatar

@Blueroses Get on your knees in line.

Blueroses's avatar

@bob no, I was volunteering to administer… you know, like we practiced the other day?

bob_'s avatar

I did not have practice sessions with that woman, Ms Roses.

Blueroses's avatar

you couldn’t have, there wasn’t time after I finished with you. talking with you

bob_'s avatar

@Blueroses Was it as good for you as it was for me?

Hey, now. I WIELD THE WHIP AROUND HERE.

Ahem. No, we don’t usually relax the guidelines for influxes of new members. We do try to be very helpful to them when moderation is needed, though. Kind of walk them through the process (if we have time).

iamthemob's avatar

And let the community know how to help you, @augustlan, I say. ;-)

augustlan's avatar

Good point, @iamthemob. It would be great if the community would be welcoming and helpful to our newcomers, and continue to ask and answer questions, as well as flag things that need mod intervention. Just be your usual, charming selves. :)

I’m still back there on the whip thing. Did somebody say something else?

chyna's avatar

@JilltheTooth What? I’m back at happy endings. Was there more after that?

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

I’ve got a whip and handcuffs, and would be more than happy to lend my assistance. Plus, I’m also a licensed massage therapist, so I know what I’m doing when it comes to happy endings muscle therapy.

Berserker's avatar

It feels completely wrong to me to say the following, but the guidelines should actually be prioritized because of the inflow.

bob_'s avatar

@Symbeline That is WRONG! You must be punished.

Berserker's avatar

I know…

SavoirFaire's avatar

I hope the guidelines are never relaxed. I like moderated communities.
