If there's a question on General that is so good it belongs on social, could we reask it? (some nsfw material inside)

I think you can flag it (if no one has already beat you to the punch) and ask that it be moved to social.

I was just there, and honestly, I think that the context of it places it solidly in General as it is asking for a serious solution rather than banter about BOBs (Battery Operated Boyfriends).

you should ask the question asker if they want to ask the question in social…or ask them to ask you to flag it when the question asked is answered the can be asked in social…

@AmWiser Some things are context-sensitive, but there are some questions in General that should be in Social but the OP forgot to change the setting, so I see where you are coming from.
It is just that in this case the question belongs in General.

The question is fine to stand in general…but to not give us Socialites a crack at it is a shame.

I suppose you could, but it would be better to just flag a moderator and ask them to change it over.

I dare not be the reasker of the verbatim question, else I’d become the “dildo guy” on this website.

That is how I felt about wundayatta’s General question about his frig. I couldn’t help myself. I suggested that he take the body out of the frizzer and the door would then close. But my answer got modded off. :(

I reasked it, and some people got offended that I was teasing a question about a dildo? Seriously?! Dildo! If you can’t laugh and tease about it a little you have a stick coming out of your ass that is resting firmly all the way into your large intestine. Why can’t you have both sometimes? The question could go to both places and be okay, couldn’t it?

@jlelandg If the stick is coming out of your ass, then the dildo has been inserted incorrectly.

This question is essentially why we ended up with two sections on Fluther.

I appreciate that a question might be tempting for the witty jellies but really it is important to respect the user who has posted the question. After all this is, at it’s bones, a question and answer site.

Posting in General is not accidental and the question is legit. Fluther is awesome because we can ask pretty much any question and this is a perfect example of a question that is genuine but might be ridiculed anywhere else.

So ultimately the question in this thread, can we re-ask it in social, is really trying to bypass the wishes of the asker for the purpose of making fun of the question and that is not how we roll here.

As a general rule, we don’t allow any question to be asked in both sections simultaneously.
