Why are you on Fluther on Christmas Eve?

I am on because I just got in from dinner with friends and am taking a break before packing for tomorrow’s trip to see the kids. Also, I am Jewish so I don’t have a big religious Christmas Eve. What’s doing in your life tonight and why are you on here?

Because my family is 3,000 miles away. Because my friends are with their families having dinner. Because I’ve been feeling under the weather all week. Mostly because I’m trying to not end up at a bar all night…
That said, it is a choice. I could have flown home (but it’s kinda depressing there). I could go out to dinner with my friends, but I’d rather just see them later tonight (we’re all having a big Christmas day tomorrow). And I may go grab a few drinks but I know that it’s going to a. make me sad and b. worsen the fact that I’m not feeling well. ugh. :/
Now go pack!! :)
‘Cause it’s just like every other night, for me.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir: it’s feeling like that for me too, but that makes me sad. Maybe because it’s just me and the kitties, but I don’t know. Does that make you sad??
@janbb: Hope you have a great Christmas as well :)
@Samantha_Rae Oh no no, I don’t celebrate Christmas so it’s all good – I’m back from a date with my partner, full of food, relaxin’
@Simone_De_Beauvoir: I figured as much :) I’m starting to get hungry, food sounds like a good idea. Hope you have a wonderful night
Finished a 120 hour work week today. Presents are under the tree. I’m fighting off a bad cold. Going to bed.
But first, I gotta check in with the jellies. Buon Natale everyone.
I did the family thing earlier, now I’m home checking in with my jellie family.
Have a good weekend all.
Feel better @cprevite.
Hey @chyna and @cprevite – love to you both. Be well (or at least better) and have a great holiday!
What is this “Christmas” you speak of?
I’m on Fluther because I found out today that my big box of presents from home is not arriving until December 28th so no Christmas for me.
Pity party.
So I just watched the movie The Killers and now I am going to bed to read.
@janbb Your question reads, “Why ON you on Fluther on Christmas Eve?”
Anyways, I’m on Fluther because I’m waiting to play with Gmod on the only computer than can handle graphics. I’m at home and a little bored.
Because I don’t get to see my family until the evening of the 26th. Actually, don’t tell my mom, but I’ll be there in the morning to help my dad with something for her. Shhh.
I guess I’ve celebrated the Eve by eating mashed potatoes with gravy, and some chicken for dinner which was also my breakfast and lunch, and I’ve been nursing this barely-alcoholic rum and coke for quite a while.
Oh and also because I love you people.
@cprevite I would have offered you a hug, but I didn’t want to get sick. Feel better. You have a little one to go through Christmas with, don’t you?
My Christmas lights are all on and blinking merrily, the two toddler grandsons are sitting quietly watching their favorite show on TV, I am cooking up some bacon to put on the steamed green beans tomorrow, and the bread maker is just about to start binging so I can put the bread out to cool off.
My adult grandsons are out with their friends, and my Son and his wife have gone back to their house to rest up for tomorrow. I’ll be starting to get the table set later this evening.
It leaves me with plenty of time to relax here with a glass of wine and Fluther.
I have barely had any time all day, so I thought I’d check in, just before I answer the kids’ questions. The life of Santa is not all fun and games.
I love that @marinelife watched The Killers on Christmas eve. I’m watching reruns of Criminal Minds. No Christmas movies for me.
Just back from Mom’s for Christmas Eve dinner (debating about going out for midnight mass as it is snowing again). Will probably curl up with a sketchbook and a pen and put on some pre-recorded episodes of Law and Order until I am ready for bed.
@marinelife So sorry to hear about your package—big hug!
Just checking in before I answer all my Kids’ “Santa” questions.
I’m here because my wife severely injured me during our Festivus feats of strength, so I can’t go out now. ;-)
Not really, but I can dream, can’t I?
Actually, we’re going to our niece’s place later, and I’m just procrastinating my post-shower “beauty” treatments. :-p
@marinelife: Yup. She’s desperately trying to sleep so Santa will come.
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar plums danc’d in their heads,
And Mama in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for some Internet crap!
With due apologies to Clement Clark Moore
Merry Christmas, all you Holiday Jellies!
My husband is trying to stay awake to see the end of the Bond movie.
Just said goodbye to the last guest and waiting for the kiddies to wind down so Santa’s elf’s can do his thing! Merry Christmas Jellies!!
Merry Christmas (or Merry Nothing) to All and to all a Good Night!
(But feel free to continue to answer!)
GOOD MORNING!!
Mewwy Cwistmaws!
To get some ideas on what to buy for Christmas Day.
