How long did it take you to adjust to a place you moved to?
I’ve been here almost five years and I still hate it as much as when I first moved, if not more. I don’t know why I hate it, I just do, and have never adjusted. Is that normal? How long did it take you to adjust

Have you made friends? Developed a sense of community? When I moved to Florida I had a strong sense of community and a circle of friends within five years even though I did not like the place.
Have you tried volunteering or joining an organization that shares your interests?
It may be that your new home is just not right for you. After I moved away from Florida, I felt immediate relief.
Wherever you go, there YOU are!
Maybe the problem is not your home, maybe it’s your attitude.
Not being insensitive, but…if you are truly not happy after 5 years, maybe it’s time to move again or examine your resistance to WHY you feel this way.
5 years is a loong time to be unhappy and not do anything about it. ;-/
Is it the actual home, is it the environment, or both? Either way, that seems like to long of a time to be miserable. If it’s not a jail sentence or house arrest, you need to seriously consider moving.
No that is not normal. You should move. I have only had one move that never felt right, I lived there almost two years. All my other moves, even if I went through a difficult transition, I felt settled within 6 months. In fact, I have only had one move that was very disruptive for me. As an adult I have lived in FL, NC, and TN. I went to school in MI, and grew up in NY and MD. Honestly, I pretty much knew right away whether I could see myself living in these places, even before I made the actual move, I knew if it fit me.
