Which one would you pick; park or beach?

Asked by whatthefuzz (44points) December 26th, 2010

I’m mostly just curious to see what people think. So what do YOU say, would you rather spend a day in the sun and sand or chilling on the swings? Any suggestions on what to DO at either of these places?

For me, it would be the beach. I usually don’t lay around on the sand though. I like to walk on the beach and I love to beach comb for shells.

At parks, I love to walk on trails.

Both are good. If I have to pick one it is the beach.

At the park. I’m not a fan of the beach. (Yes, I know some people think that is weird.)
I am a sucker for a great swing set. I could do that all day. I also like to read in the park, take my sketchbook and draw, go for a hike or walk the trails, try to spot crayfish in the creek, rollerskate. You could take a bike. Our park has a volleyball court, so I like to do that if I have friends that will play, which is rare, sadly.
We have a large metropark here, also, which is awesome. There are lots of beautiful historic sites on its 4,400 acres. I don’t know anyone that couldn’t easily spend all day, every day, in that park.

I love chilling on the swings. It’s usually peaceful when you go when it’s cold or at night, and the latter reminds me of my bygone teenage years when we used to get drunk in the park and by the river behind it. And it’s great just sitting around when there’s kids playing, kinda smacks your perspective of things around a bit and that’s always cool. Little kids rule.

The beach is pretty awesome too, it’s pretty looking, and there’s hot people everywhere. :D

Problem for me is, I’m not a people person and I find it irritating to be around huge amounts of people, so I’d opt fora beach spot that isn’t used by people.

I prefer hiking th trails at a lovely park to walking or sitting at the beach.

I am a true sunlover. throw me some rays anyday and leave the parks to the homeless.

Park indeed! I love noticing what people are doing, reading and stuff. And it’s more clean than a beach landscape, I guess, but it’s indeed more clean and more fresh. Relaxing, it’s the right word.

Normally, I like the beach. But this evening, the temperature is hovering around 20 degrees F, the snow is blowing horizontally in winds near hurricane force, and the off-shore swells are 20 to 25 feet high with serious coastal splash-over causing moderate to severe flooding. Neither the park nor the beach beats my own cozy home so long as the power stays on. I just heard on TV storm watch that the entire island of Nantucket has lost power.

Beachbeachbeach!!!! I live in a landlocked state, so beaches are just magical places of wonder and miracles to me.

It depends what there is to do in either place. A park with lots of trails to walk would suit me better than one with just swings and stuff. And a beach with windsurfing or waterskiing would have more apeal than one where there’s nothing to do but lay in the sun.

I love both, but I’d have to pick the beach. I love being by the water, so I’d swim, go for walks, read, write and the like

I hate sand. Definitely the park.

Berserker's avatar

@Trillian But some parks can have a lot of sand. XD

I love the beach and can spend all day there. I prefer the beaches where you can build a fire at night and watch the starts out over the water.

The beach because it’s closer to the sea.
