Is minimum auction length on ebay a new thing?

I just went on to eBay to list some software (Microsoft Office) for a three day listing, but eBay stopped me to tell me that there was a minimum of 5 days for that particular item. Is this a new thing? Does anyone know why?

There seems to be different minimums depending on the type of auction you create. I found this comparison of the different auctions types in the eBay help section

@cawlin I was actually wondering about certain items having minimum times. The software I listed was in an auction-listing, which according to that link should be able to be 1 day, 3 day, 5 day, 7 day, or 10 days, but when I went to list it, eBay told me that it could only be 5, 7, or 10 days, not for 1 or 3 days.
