I’ll be frank, @chelle21689, I don’t care if it’s cold enough – it’ll look great.
as a direct answer to your question, I’d take a light jacket with me to any city where the temperature were in the range you describe.
It’s been getting into the 40’s at night fairly regularly. Go for it.
In the two years I lived there (08, 09, part of 10) I don’t recall ever needing something like that. I agree, it would look nice, but if you’re aiming to travel efficiently, you do not need it. I was more than comfortable most nights with jeans and a members only type jacket.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and there are plenty of times when I need a warm jacket.
Leave your trench coat at home. it will just be excess baggage on the airplane. if you feel the need, in L.A., there are plenty of thrift stores and the price is right.
I think that coat in the picture would be fine.
I can’t answer the question for this moment in time. I am in Boston living through an incredible 24 hour + blizzard. But having lived many years in LA, I can guarantee you it can get cold enough you would be happy you packed that coat. It can get down near freezing in the winter, and be windy to boot. The record low was 28 degrees F. set Jan. 4, 1949.
Besides, that is a great looking trench coat. You’d be crazy not to pack it and then have a cold, rainy wind set in.
I’m here now and it’s a bit too hot for a trench! I do have a very light sweater jacket though. Thanks everyone!
It’s supposed to rain tomorrow.
Still better than 20 degree weather and snow!
It’s cold, too. Are you warm enough?
It can get chilly during winter in CA, although that may depend on what part of CA. So yes, I’d bring it with you.
