Have you ever had something happen to you, and you weren't sure what it meant?
Today I went to my office to water my plants (and to get the info on the Durango so I could get the tags)....and my key wouldn’t work in the locks. I tried and tried and tried, and they would not work. I was like, “WTH??? What does this mean??”
I figured it was one of 3 things:
1) Somehow the locks got changed and no one bothered to tell me.
2) I’ve suddenly gotten seriously, seriously stupid and forgotten how to unlock a door which wouldn’t look so good to my boss, or….
3).....?????....????.....????...
Could be nothing, could be seriously serious….I was kinda scared….

Has it been cold/rainy/snowy in your area? ....locks could be frozen….needs lock de-icer or could be stuck might need a little WD40
Also could have had a break-in and needed the locks to be replaced
@Cruiser You said what I was afraid to say, but that’s the first thing that crossed my mind.
Was it the building door lock, or your office door lock? If it was the building, when was the last time you unlocked the door? Are there other tennants in the building? One time we changed locks because someone in the building lost their keys. Not everyone was reissued a new key.
Somebody jammed the lock?
Another grim possibility is that the company lost funding and locked all employees out.
Chances are, though, it is simply that they changed the locks and didn’t get you a new key.
Let us know. Good luck.
Splinter Cell Sam Fisher was probably their earlier…
Well, we’re all off for two weeks. This happened yesterday. I called my boss right away, and she acted puzzled…and irritated. I told her I’d try some more and also would call my other co worker. Well, my other co-worker said she just didn’t have the time (5 minutes) to come try her key…..yeah. I had all those weird thoughts running through my head, including, “I’ve been fired by they want to wait till after break to tell me….” Finally I sucked it up and called Boss back and told her the key flat won’t work. She still sounded a little miffed when she said “Well, I’ll go try and I’ll call the landlady if I HAVE to.”......
Another couple of hours goes by…she finally calls back. Yeah. The landlady had given a repairman a key and his key jammed in lock, so she changed the locks and didn’t tell anyone! Boss said she has a key now that I could come by and get, and she didn’t sound at all irritated with me any more!!
WHEW!
: ) Thanks @marinelife! It was soooo hard to make that second call to Boss and tell her, unequivocally, that the key really, really wasn’t working and sound casual and confident.!!
