What organizations accept donations of used children's toys?
I want my child to donate his gently used toys every year before Christmas to help him understand giving and also to clean his room out for his new stuff coming in. What organizations/businesses would find use of gently used toys, though? Is there anywhere who gives them to needy children?

I donate toys to Goodwill Donation Centers. We have one right up the street, I love going there and giving all the things we don’t need or want.
I’ve given things to homeless shelters, battered women’s shelter, after school program, church daycare, and family court (a local judge collects stuffed animals to give children that have to take the stand.) Some things went from our house, to grandma’s, to the aforementioned places. Beanie Babies went to Iraq and Afghanistan, in soldier care packages, to be handed out to children.
Goodwill and the Salvation Army have stores you can donate to. Also, in my area, there are churches that accept these donations. A battered woman’s shelter would love to have toys to give to women’s families that had to flee their homes without their kids’ toys. Look in your area for families that have lost everything to fires. They would love to have toys for their kids too.
I did this with my kids, our town’s Christmas Bureau would fix and clean gently used stuffies.
There are many many places to donate, as mentioned above. I personally prefer homeless shelters, as I think they could benefit the most as @chyna stated.
Thanks everyone! I knew there is a big need for new toys for “Angel Tree” children around Christmas time, but didn’t know what to do with the gently used ones.
