(NSFW) Where does your kink continuum start?

Asked by MyNewtBoobs (19069points) December 27th, 2010

What’s the least kinky thing that you still consider to be kinky? Food? Public places? Different positions? Oral sex? The foot of the bed?

Restraints (as in physically limiting what one partner can do). It’s pretty common, but still seems kinky somehow. Of course, it remains an open question whether or not we order our continua the same way.

I guess I’d have to say restraints and/or blindfolding. Both require a fair amount of trust in the other person, but are pretty mild in comparison to other things.

@MissAnthrope Ooo, blindfolding – I always forget that for some reason.

Watching my boyfriend give me oral sex or watching him play with himself. Both are pretty normal when it comes to intimacy and yet, both drive me wild.

I can’t decide between bondage or super advanced role-playing. (i.e., costumes, accents, props, etc.)

I second @MissAnthrope‘s answer. Bondage is the very start of my kinky continuum. But I don’t consider bondage, in and of itself, all that kinky.

Hmm, GQ – I suppose it would begin with me being in charge of his anal area.

SavoirFaire's avatar

@MissAnthrope Good call. I hereby change my answer to “restraints/blindfolding.” The rest can remain intact.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir So far, the most creative (and yet understandable) answer. You never cease to surprise me.
@Leanne1986 But you do consider both of those kinky, correct?

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

I think mine would be about the same as @Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard‘s – I don’t normally think of role playing as kinky, but yeah, if I have to work on an accent that does take it to an entirely new level.

This is probably very sad, but I’ve never done anything I thought was kinky. I guess I would think that things like golden showers and other kinds of excrement play would be pretty kinky. But I don’t think role playing games are kinky, nor any kind of dominance/ submission stuff. I haven’t done a lot of things that I don’t think are kinky, either.

@papayalily They make me feel kinky!

My kink scale… hmm… it’s sorta hard to picture. Even most of my routine sex involves a little violence/aggression, simply because that’s the power relation we like (in bed, anyway). I guess kinky begins when we’re actively going for it. Maybe a couple clothespins can be fun while making out, but if we’re going for 75+ maybe that’s a little kinky. Light bondage? Nope. Tied up, gagged, and cum on while suspended from a tree? yeah, a little kinky.

Kinky seems to be anything that really amps up what we’re used to.

@Smashley You wins this thread

Do you mean @papayalily what is the “gateway” kink?

Probably handcuffs and blindfolds.

I’m a bit of a foodie myself. Whipped cream from scratch, tempered chocolate? Sure why not.

Smashley's avatar

@papayalily – That’s all it takes to win this thread? you should read my journals…

I was at least expecting @HungryGuy to chime in with something so perverse it would make Jeffrey Dahmer blush.

HungryGuy's avatar

@Smashley – Do you really want me to do that and take the title away from you???? My answer would be sooo beyond NSFW…

MissAnthrope's avatar

No, thank you. Some bells simply cannot be unrung.

HungryGuy's avatar

Right. Some of my stories would make the two girls (of Two Girls and One Cup) blush, never mind Jeffrey Dahmer :-p

Smashley's avatar

@HungryGuy Yeah, some of those are on a level I’ve never even fathomed, though they are hauntingly addicting. Good reading for pervy folk of all kinds, even if putting someone in The Box totally isn’t your thing.
