What video game from the 80's had a 'chicken' powerup?

Asked by andrew (16562points) December 28th, 2010

My gf remembers this fighting game where you could move up and down the screen and you could walk over some roasted chicken and the game would say “chicken”.

I have a feeling this is a classic beat-‘em-up.

I don’t know. And for this, I am shamed, for I love video games…especially old school ones from the eighties.
However, on your quest for knowledge, truth and answers, perhaps I may ease thy ordeals with the following goodness of the late nineties?
Much luck upon thy quest, brave and noble knight!

The only game that comes to mind is “Burger Time”. It’s a chef that makes burgers by walking over the ingredients. But I don’t know if there was any chicken. Picture the game of Donkey Kong where you play as Mario and you try going up the stairs dodging barrels that Donkey Kong throws at you. Kinda like that.

Gauntlet had chicken, IIRC, though I mainly remember what it said when you accidentally wrecked it, e.g. “The elf shot the food!”

From that article that @talljasperman linked to, it’s Tekken Force mode in Tekken 3. “CHICKEN”.
