Would you rather feel one emotion for the rest of your life or no emotion at all?
Why?
If you pick the one emotion, it can be any emotion except for happy or sad.

No happy??? I will take joyful then. ;)
Yep. I’ll go with perpetual delightedness ; thanks.
it seems the majority would want one emotion only if we could choose which one! If I had to choose between sadness or no emotion, I’d rather feel nothing.
I would choose contentedness.
@marinelife I’m torn between this and lucilles’ joyfulness. Tough one
This post is the first modern example of a double-post on Fluther.
All positive emotions are an ingredient of happiness.
Happiness is the ultimate human emotional experience.
What good is such a choice if happy is off the table?
Too grim a prospect by my thinking. I don’t like the premise.
Not really an answer, I guess, but I had to make the statement.
Thoughtful, because if I were to choose something like joyful, then I might occasionally look silly around others… Well, actually, you wouldn’t, because you could only feel joyful about being joyful. Holy crap this is a stupid question. ~ And why didn’t I just make this the first answer?? Right now I feel “funny.”
I agree with @marinelife, even before I saw her answer! I cherish any times I feel contented.
self-confidence. I try for this, unfortunately I stick my foot in my mouth, or screw up sometimes to bring me back down to earth.
Scratch my previous answer. I’d want careful, not excited.
don’t you think always feeling content would be almost the same thing as having no emotion?
