I have been growing Kumara (very similar to potatoes) and germinating a single tuber in water then planting, a friend tells me that I can cut it into 3 pieces and get three plants from one tuber. True or false?

I don’t have any experience with Kumara. Does it have eyes like a potato? If it does, each eye will produce a plant so you can get multiple plants from a single tuber. Just let them dry a little before planting.
Yes. You don’t split the tuber though. Here are the instructions:
“Push a couple of kumara tubers into the sand layer, then water regularly. As the horse manure breaks down and starts to heat up, the kumara will sprout vigorously. The sprouts can be cut off the tuber when they’re about 50mm high and the roots can be easily separated from the loose sand. From a single tuber, it’s possible to get a dozen new plants.”

YUM! Odysseus. I miss kumara. Are yours the purple or red sort? I wonder if I can import them here in Norway to try to grow, by using some sort of potato bag in a glass house.
@marinelife excellent tip and I hope it works.
I have not tried this Kumara, where can I get some?
