In my teens I used to work out a lot, by a lot I mean 3–4 hours a day, 7 days a week. It took me 2 years to go from a bit of a belly to a 6 pack abs and pecks and what not.
Having said that, I used to eat very well, more than i eat now, and i did it all natural, no steroids, not even any protein mixes, just food and the gym.
So, going on my own personal experience, how my body works, and what others have told me, it will take you 2–3 years.
Took me 2 years to get ripped, i kept it up for almost 10 years, and it took 1 lazy year to undo it all.
Its extremely dependent on how your body type is. @poisonedantidote took 2 years, but me on the other hand can get much more in shape/built looking in about month doing nothing more than pushups and sit ups. Shame im a lazy bastard :P
If you truly want that build you will need to add weight…15–20 lbs at least to get that muscle mass on a 6 foot frame. Military push-ups, handstand push-ups, Dolphin push-ups, chin ups lot of chin ups and I would add 3–5 miles of swimming a week to get that bod by June.
I have an extremely high metabolism, I use protein shakes, however it is very hard for me to gain weight
@Cruiser, I am not a good swimmer, half a mile is the limit for me :(
@jdogg I did mean about that distance each time out for a total of 3— 5 miles a week! Good Luck!
Your age and hormone levels may be against you hitting that goal, but if you’re trying to look good for the summer, you should definitely hit that if you’re lifting. Keep in mind that the more muscle you develop, the more your metabolism will kick up. You are going to need to eat more.
I’m pretty much the same size, but I weigh 140. When I was your age I was hitting the gym everyday. I think you are looking at a unrealistic goal. You can bulk up, just probably not that much. But don’t get discouraged. You can still bulk up a bit. But that image might be hard to obtain.
Do you think maybe half way their by 5 months? Im not looking to be exactly like that, I don’t think I have it in my to starve myself Everytime I take off my shirt, i just feel too scrawny, when I see a little results thats what motivates me.
