Can I edit my name on FB without creating a new account?

(Moi – asking a FB question!) I did not incorporate my “maiden” name when I created my FB account and no one from my earlier days has found me (or maybe they did and are ignoring me.) I would like to add it – either with my “married” name in the middle or at the end. Any suggestions as to how to do this and if I should leave it in the middle or at the end? Also, I was known as “Janet” for many years and now use “Jan.” Should that effect people finding me?
