What are good ways to earn money this winter? (details inside)
I am a college student and home on break for the winter. I need to make some money for books and other supplies for next semester and was looking for ideas on how to make money this winter break. Shoot me some ideas gang!

Where I live, stand on the street corner with a sign. I read that they make upwards of $15 an hour, totally tax free.
Not to sound obvious, but try getting a job? Something that doesn’t require a great deal of experience would make it easier for you (unless you have some/enough).
I don’t know where you live, but if you’re in the snow belt, shovel snow off driveways, walkways, and roofs.
@vocalthoughts I am only home for 3 more weeks so it is hard to find a seasonal job. I am currently looking but would like to earn money now

Go to your local workforce center and find a temporary or seasonal job. Or if it snows a lot where you live just carry a snow shovel and go door to door in all the neighborhoods and tell them you will shovel their sidewalk for $10. It takes about 20 minutes and if you do 10 to 20 sidewalks in a day that is $100 to $200 tax free cash in your pocket. PLus its a great way to stay in shape and get a good exercise.

Have you thought about babysitting? I usually get 20 or 30 bucks a night, and that’s working for friends that don’t really have a ton of money. If you find the right person or neighborhood, you could make a lot more than that.

@bangah what are some good websites to use for selling stuff? Like used video cameras and editing software..
Are there any universities near you? I sometimes make money by participating as a subject in psychology tests run by researchers.
@answerjill ooh, that sounds like a cool idea and a way to make some easy cash. I might look into that myself.
@ChocolateReigns – The business school near me also hires subjects for experiments, You can also find some focus groups and other studies to participate in by checking out the “misc” section of the jobs list on Craigslist.
Donating plasma is way better than those studies. Consistent money and free blood screens for blood born pathogens. MUST BE 18.
