Why are the Endosulfan victims only reported in Kerala?
From all that I hear in the media, Endosulfan victims are reported only in Kerala and nowhere else in the country. If an age old pesticide like Endosulfan is so harmful why aint we hearing anything negative from other parts of the country?

Endosulphan has been around for at least 50 years. It is restricted pesticide available to commercial farmers with a license.
In 2002 the US EPA began to consider restrictions Here is a map of its use
In June 2010 the EPA made the announcement that they plan on a total ban.
The US monitors usage continuously and we have active surveillance by community groups and environmental activists. Water runoff is checked periodically with severe fines and penalties handed out for violations.
Why only Kerala? I suspect it is due to the water run off from Plantation Corp. of Kerala (government owned) and their casual practice of aerial spraying. There are no checks and balances. No one is watching what the sprayers are doing and there is little concern for the people “downstream” of the plantation. The government controls the plantation, the sprayers, and the inspectors. With the region’s history of bribes and graft there is little chance soil testing was performed accurately and reported honestly.
Sadly, it is the people at the bottom of the pyramid who suffer the most.
Because the rest of the world has either pretty much stopped using it or banned it outright.
