How busy was it at your place over the holidays?
We celebrated Christmas at my house and had a houseful of overnight guests and more than a dozen for dinner. Buying the food, and cooking the ambitious meal I dreamed up was a time consuming task.
Afterwards, the kids were home and I was doing things with them, and I looked up to discover I’d had practically no time to do things for myself, like fluther, over the holiday.
How was it for you? Did you go AWOL?

Low key.Just the way I wanted it :)
Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day were pretty hectic, but now I actually miss the buzz of lots of people in my home.
I really enjoyed having friends and family over to stay with me.
We had a water leak in the kitchen the week before Xmas. We had just put up our tree the night before. Then we discovered the leak had travelled under the floor and into the living room. So most of the drywall (a foot up from the ground) has to be replaced in the kitchen, dining room and living room. And the entire living room floor has to be taken up and replaced. We had to immediately take down all our Xmas tree and all of our decorations in those rooms. : (
Xmas came to an abrupt halt at our house, but luckily we spent Xmas day in another city with relatives having dinner and visiting with some who we hadn’t seen in a few years. That was really nice.
Because we’ve had no stove or oven since the week before Xmas, my mom and I are going to do all of our Xmas baking in the middle of January. Should be a nice surprise for everyone.
Very quite. There was not so much happening.
Pretty quiet here too.
A few neighborhood get togethers, and a mellow Xmas here with my daughter and her boyfriend. I have reached the ‘downsizing’ phase of life and it suits me just fine. ;-)
I was in a house of 10. Not very.
Pretty busy. I had a guest from England.
Christmas Eve, alone. Christmas Day, alone until a well meaning friend stopped by to pick me up late in the evening. Took me to the crummiest bar in town open on Christmas Day crummy and I proceeded to drink waayyy too much…word on the street has it that I punched an over-aggressive “suitor”. Geez, coulda done without that. At least I entertained the other losers.
Hardly busy at all. I had one extra dog in the house, my brother stayed the night on Christmas eve and my mum and step dad visited for half an hour on Christmas day. Other than that, same old, same old.
Zero business at my house.
My wife and I went to our niece’s house and ate some take out food that we ordered on Xmas eve.
We all like to have a minimal-stress Xmas.
It was pretty busy. Thanksgiving was actually the most people we had, but Christmas was the busiest with different people coming on different days including relatives and friends. It was a lot of fun. I like to have a combination of times of quietness and business. It makes things fun. :)
Nothing unusual, except we managed to get Great Grandma to come over for dinner. She rarely leaves the house for anything, so we were happy to see her.
The reason wasn’t that great, Grandma, her daughter, was in the hospital for emergency surgery, but is out and fine now.
Not at all busy, thankfully. I like it quiet around the holidays.
Very quiet, no get togethers at all and a ruined turkey. Can’t wait until January lst.
