What kind of shoes are cool for a 19 year old male?

I need to get myself a pair or two of cool shoes. I have been buying skater shoes for a while now because they are very comfortable and pretty plain. But, I am in need of some cool looking shoes to pull off a stylish outfit. What kind of shoes would be stylish for a guy my age to wear?

Get some velcro shoes for that ironic look. And they’re crazy comfortable.
I’m a 19-year-old male and I’m a huge fan of Vans. In fact, most of my pairs of shoes are Vans.
Fubus, with patent leather.
Vans, Converse, Jordans or Nikes (not the workout shoes).
“I am white”. What? I’m so confused. Only black people can wear certain shoes now?
Whatever is cool for you is cool, in my opinion.
@DrasticDreamer My comment about me being white made perfect sense. And It didn’t strictly mean ‘Im not black’ as you imply. There are all different colors out there. But, the brand ‘Fubu’ that was suggested is typically a black brand of clothing.
@Afos22 Who cares what’s typical when it comes to shoes? You have to take good care of your feet, even if that requires crossing arbitrary racial clothing barriers.
@Afos22 Why is it “a black brand”? What makes it so?

@kenmc I know @DrasticDreamer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fubu also searching Google images “fubu clothes” or “fubu clothing” will show results of people wearing fubu clothing. Most of the individuals will be black. It seems like you want it to be a ‘racist thing’ but it is not. It is just a black brand. Its as simple as that. Ask a black person, and they will agree.
But, this is about shoes for me, not what brands of clothing people wear. I was just asking what shoes are stylish for me. This would exclude a black brands, female shoes, dancing shoes, water shoes, Latvian party shoes, etc.
@Afos22 We’re saying that you can wear them if you’re white. And if you’ll look above, I answered your question as you would have liked it to be answered.
@Afos22 You’re absolutely correct that I will disagree with you, because that’s ridiculous thinking – by you and society. I’m majoring in Anthropology, in which I’m getting my Master’s and then PhD someday. If you’re ever curious about how society and life works, I’ll email you some essays on this very subject. You’re misinformed about “how things work”.
@Afos22
“This would exclude a black brands”
What “non”-racist reason(s) do you have for excluding black brands?

It’s because he doesn’t want to stand out, be called weird, possibly be called a “wigger” by a lot of people, be accused of “trying to act black”. Being young still, being pressured, I can understand his thinking. I don’t believe that he is truly racist – but @Afos22 your line of thinking is. Not all of society’s “rules” are a good thing. I’m sorry… I’m going to have to address things like this in my actual job someday, and I’ve studied a lot about it. Maybe this isn’t the time or place.
It is ridiculous thinking, though. Your desire to conform to society is saddening, but don’t worry. It’s the way most people go. Comfort in numbers, I guess.
@kenmc It is not racism. Saying that something is endemic to a certain culture or people is not racism. Saying that a sombrero is typically worn by Mexicans or that igloos are typically lived in by Inuits is not racism. People are so afraid of saying something about a certain people or culture will come over as offensive, that they think saying anything about a people in general is racism. It isn’t. Its not racism. If I said something like “all black people wear fubu”, I guess that would seem racist, if it wasn’t so absurd a statement. @DrasticDreamer stop being so ridiculous. Half of what you are saying does not make sense to me. Not because I can’t grasp what you are trying to say, but because you can’t understand what you are trying to say. please stay on topic. Don’t be the first person to shout “Racism!!” When someone says something about a different people.
@cockswain haha. You just picked a typically black brand to watch white people squirm.
To all you who are misinformed of what is racism and what is offensive, learn something.
Also read about “fubu” on wikipedia. Here you go, ill provide it again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fubu
@Afos22 Saying that you can’t wear a sombrero because they’re made for Mexicans is racist. That’s what you’re saying about fubu shoes.
I’m all for being honest about race, but to be so ignorant to say that an arbitrary piece of dress is specific to a race is just silly.
@Afos22 Oh, but it is racism. I promise you, it really, really is. Just because it is an accepted form of racism doesn’t make a damn difference. Half of what I’m saying doesn’t make sense to you, because you really can’t grasp what I’m saying. Just because FUBU stands for “For Us By Us” doesn’t make a goddamn difference, either. It’s a way to separate the “races” by something as stupid and idiotic as what people wear. Buy into it, by all means. You, along with all the other people who think like you, are misinformed.
Take a few cultural anthropology classes. Open your eyes and broaden your horizons.
@Afos22
“Also read about “fubu” on wikipedia. Here you go, ill provide it again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fubu"
Where in the linked Wiki page is there a reason for excluding FUBU from consideration?
One thing that page does state is, “It includes casual wear, sports wear, a suit collection, eyewear, belts, and shoes for the African-American community in the sense of economic investment but not to be exclusively worn by African Americans.”
@kenmc Are you reading what I am typing. I didn’t say that a sombrero is made for Mexicans. Sombreros are worn by people who are in the sun. What I am saying about the fubu brand is that if you look at the demographics of the people who wear fubu, there is only a small portion who are white. @DrasticDreamer Is that what it stands for? That isn’t what my argument is based upon. @Brian1946 Yes, not exclusively, but mostly. Just as kilts are worn by mostly the Scottish and the yarmulke is typically worn by Jewish people.
