Have you ever heard a new song and just been moved by it?
I heard part of a song in the background of a furniture store ad, and I loved it.
I looked it up and Rhythm of Love by Plain White Ts is just so great. I cried when I listened to it.
Has that every happened to you? If so, what song? Links please.

First time that I heard this Muse song.
I felt that way about Hey There Delilah, also by the Plain White Ts. I’m actually kind of sad that it became a mainstream thing after I “discovered” them in ‘05.
@Jude That’s a really neat piece. I had never heard of Muse before.
@Seelix I just listened to Hey There Delilah, and I really liked that song too.
I am moved every time I hear Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley and k.d. lang. Not a new song, but it gets to me.
@chyna Both of those artists singing that song get to me every time!
All the time. Jimmy Eat World has quite a few songs that lift me up and inspire me. To name a couple: 23, Goodbye Sky Harbor, Sweetness, Dizzy.
That happened to me today. I heard a song that I’ve never heard before and I almost wanted to cry.
Life is Beautiful by Sixx A.M.
Nine Crimes by Damien Rice
I was obsessed with the Greenday song ‘21 guns’ a year or so ago.
That song really moved me, and I found many renditions done by independent artists on youtube.
I can also sing to it in near perfect pitch…so, not only was I moved by it, but, I was obsessed with singing it well too!
This one got to me as do alot of her songs :)
It’s not a new song but it touches me every time I hear it This womans work I chose to share the Maxwell version but Kate Bush is the original artist.
And Pretty Wings Also performed by Maxwell.
The song that gets me the most though is Because you loved me This song me makes me think of my Mother.
Sorry none of these songs are new, but they just don’t make em like they used to.
Oh yes, there is a song called Adoramus by a choir called Libera that I discovered a few years ago. I was totally floored. The entire album (called Angel Voices) is awe-inspiring. You can hear Adoramus here
And Time to Say Goodbye by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. I first heard it at an ice skating show and started crying. You’ve probably heard it before because it’s a few years old now, but you can hear it here
And Hallelujah as sung by kd Lang at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010. You can here it here
And Talk Tonight by Oasis, you can hear it here
This brings a frog…...lump to my throat…sniffle, wimper :¬(
“Life After You” by Daughtry. It wasn’t long after a [fucking stupid] suicide attempt and my husband was incredible through the entire ordeal. I was driving in the car by myself the first time I heard it and started crying so hard I had to pull over.
Most recently, this song. There’s no picture, just the song. I first heard it from the Battle: Los Angeles trailer, but listening to the entire thing, it’s just beautiful and has made me cry several times.
Whenever I get down….I put on Foxy to lift me back up.
@Vunessuh it’s a pretty decent song, and it does strike a chord in me as well
I heard this song for the first time just a few days ago. I knew within 15 seconds that I was meant to listen to this song.
Last night you’ll spend alone.
Whilst driving through Death Valley I heard God Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts for the first time. I was so moved by it that I bought it on iTunes straight away and now, whenever I hear it, I am taken back to that moment.
Also, Caladonia by Ruth Notman.
Again, not a new song, but I just had my iTunes on shuffle and came across one that I forgot: Tender Comrade by Billy Bragg. Chilling.
Don’t laugh but I was moved by’‘White Flag’’ when it first came out. The song is sung by Dido.
“You Are Loved” by Josh Groban.
My Heart will go on, Celine Dion
Yeah, two songs actually. The first time I listened to Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and Firework by Katy Perry (yes I’m her fan, deal with it) I was really moved because they have really meaningful lyrics. Hits me at home.
Buildings and Mountains by Republic Tigers really gave me chills when I first heard it. It was like I lost myself for a second..
