I am writing a book about how the world will suffer and destroy itself in the year 3012. How and why the myans were wrong. How mankind drew our Earth to this. I’d give more information, but if it gets published, I don’t want to ruin it.
Sooo, any suggestions for the title?
And no, it has nothing to do with god. So if you were going to say anything about god making us suffer for our mistakes, that is not the case. If you were going to put it into a religion, it’s more along the lines of Pegan.

The Destruction of Mankind.
How about ‘self destruction’?
Our final chapter.
We had it coming.
BLOOD WORLD 3012
I like ‘we had it coming’
‘Onethousand years too late’
‘Our only chance of survival is nothing’
The Ending We Created.
How To Protect The Future.
Follow The Leader.
The Things We Did Right.
Start From The Ending.
We Got What We Wanted And Left.
rpm_pseud0name, only the first one makes sence to me.
Seelix, interesting title.
It might be worth looking into – whether it would violate copyright, that is. But seeing as how good old T.S. has been dead for 45 years, I doubt he’s suing.
I didn’t put too much thought into these, since I haven’t read the book, but my direction for the others are:
#2 The book is about how we brought destruction to the world. So, do the opposite of everything in this book & it becomes a manual on how to protect the future.
#3 I would assume that it wasn’t just one person that brought on the destruction. I would think that it was because everyone was doing what everyone else was doing/being told.
#4 Along the same lines as #2, just different title.
#5 I just like the way it sounds. :)
#6 Humanity got what they wanted out of the planet & left. Left = destroyed everything & left nothing to remain, even ourselves.
CaptainHarley, nice.
rpm_pseud0name, ohhhh, now I understand. It makes sence. Almost a perfect title. you understood the book before you read it.
Building off @CaptainHarley ‘s
The thousand year time bomb
One thousand year count down
The second would refer to most of human kind in the book. When 2012 passed some of humanity just kicked back and relaxed, while the ‘parinoid’ ones believed that the end was still coming. So it was like a thousand year countdown.
Nice.
I would have to read the book first
For the record, your publishing contract will state that the title of the book is to be determined by the publisher. Still, it helps to have a working title, and I’m out of suggestions other than those already written here.
A Thousand Extra Years
One Thousand Revolutions (around the sun, not as in the Bible – although, that might be confusing)
@blackenedbloodred, I really like I like “The Inevitable” but would personally go with simply, “Inevitable”
“Finally, It Ended”
or, “3012, A Sequel to 2012”
or, “The Last Hope Lies In The Prequel 1012”
How about “Kataklizma.”
Same meaning and almost same sounding as cataclysm, just it’s in Croatian and sounds pretty cool!
I was just going to say that the Publisher will have final say on the book’s title, but you can make a suggestion.
For some reason this children’s song came into my head, thinking about the content of your book.

‘The clock stopped short, never to go again, when the old man died.’ goes the lyric.
In 3012..they will be no one here to read your book.
(cazzie, you brought up children’s songs and that brought this one to mind),
Ring around the Rosie, a pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down!
Ashes, Ashes, We All Fall Down!-
I think that makes a great title. Of course I don’t know if the end you are envisoning has any fires or explosions, but I’m taking a wild guess. And actually if you do a little research you may find that this song was a reaction to World War ll. We thought it was the war to end all wars. Boy were we wrong!
@Earthgirl I think you’ll find that the ‘ring around the rosie’ goes even father back. A bit like ‘London Bridge is falling down.’ Versions of Ring around the Rosie go back as far as 1790.
ezamine, I was wrong about the history of the song-Ring Around the Rosie- seems it has many versions and verses around the world and was started earlier than I thought. In case anyone is interested here’s the link
