Can anyone recommend more Wii games that my tween and I might enjoy together?
My daughter and I have finally found a game that we enjoy playing together, but sadly, we have exhausted it over the past couple of weeks. I am relying on jellies to put on your gaming hats and tell me, based upon our love of racing each other on MarioKarts, can you recommend more Wii games that we might enjoy together? They don’t have to be racing games, though we do have two of the steering wheels to drive with. Thanks, as always, in advance!

I don’t know how old your daughter is, but we love Wii Big Brain Academy. You can race doing brain games. If you have your Wii hooked up to the Internet, you can download old school games for a very, very low price. My husband plays some kind of dirt bike game that we downloaded, but I can’t get the hang of it. We’ve downloaded PacMan and Galaga and love them. We also are addicted to the Wii Family Game Night games where you play the Hasbro board games like Yahtzee, Connect Four, Boggle, Battleship, Connect Four and others.
Have fun!!
I would recommend Wii Fit Boxing.
My daughter and I both like competing with the Cooking Mama games. There are two versions, and both are fun. They can be played with one or two players.
We also like the Lego games. They’re more cooperative than competitive, but they’re a lot of fun. Lego Star Wars is the best in my opinion, and you don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. If your daughter is into Harry Potter, the two of you might like working your way through Lego Harry Potter together.
My son got Boom Blox for Christmas, so lately we’ve been playing that one a lot. It’s fun and good for your brain!
Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.
You might also get some mileage out of Carnival games I and II (although the guy who does the voiceover sounds scarily like an acquaintance of mine) and Super Monkey Ball.
Also seek out Mario Party.
Tiz true @bkcunningham. Every system has some sort of up and moving your body active controller system now. So, now that you can see it in 1080p Full HD and each one has about nearly the same games, what’s there to turn to? Nintendo better set up their game if they want to stay in the running. That’s my opinion though…
@Axemusica – why do you think that? Of the latest iteration of the games consoles, the Wii is the highest selling by a wide margin (old figures, even though they demonstrate the point).
It’s important to remember that the Wii was first to market and has a significantly lower barrier to entry in that the controllers have been in production for far longer: a new Wii costs betwen £100 and £200 depending on the software and accessories that come with it. Compare with Xbox Kinect and PS3 prices.
The Wii might lose market share now, but it’s important to remember that Nintendo always lead the way in controller innovation, and, I would suspect, Nintendo are more aware of the fact that it’s the user interface that determines how successful a home console is, not the power of the console.
The Wii is on the way out, as all the current generation of consoles are – the difference is that the Wii has a far more mature interface over its competitors, who took three years to develop alternatives.
Do you believe Nintendo has been just sucking its collective thumbs since they released the Wii?
Just Dance 2 is really fun. And so is the Michael Jackson Experience. For both of the games you can dance solo or as a duet.
Thank you, everyone, for your input. I got her the Michael Jackson Exp for Xmas – she and her friends are enjoying it, but no one has suggested that I get involved…(?! hmph.)
Today we wound up with Kirbys Epic Yarn (highly extolled by GameStop girl) to play together, Sims 3 for dd, and Zumba for me. Much frivolity to follow.
