I read on worldwidenews that facebook was shutting down this march 15 2011. Is this a prank or real?

Not true. It’s too big of a money maker.
I don’t believe it. Can you post the link so anyone that wants to read it can?
No, it is not shutting down. This is a prank.
It’s not an original prank, either. The same rumor was spread last year.
MySpace has fired a significant portion of its staff. Are you getting the two confused?
Yes, the Mayans originally predicted this back in pre-Columbian days when they carved their calendars in stone.
Absolutely. Don’t let anyone tell you anything different. All this talk of how much money facebook makes and how its always going to be there and free as long as people keep using it is complete crap. They’ll be gone and soon.
Btw, ~
@CyanoticWasp No no no no no. It was in the writings of Nostradamus where he wrote:
“The book with the face
On the Ides of March
Shall die with grace
from the height of the arch.”
@Rarebear
Duh, me. I always get them confused.
Can I see your source on that, @Rarebear? I thought it was
”...shall die without grace
from a stortage of starch.”
I heard that facebook is earning more money than ever. They just recently got a huge contract. I don’t remember who it was. I wasn’t really paying too much attention to the news at the time. The topic wasn’t so much about facebook but how the company’s are making tons of money by advertising on sites such like facebook.
Facebook is more financially sound than any other business right now. I doubt they will shut down.
nope thats not gonna happen! even if a nuclear holocaust engulfs the whole world!
@SavoirFaire, aaah, the presence of Bat Boy’s image in the masthead is usually a good clue…
@Rarebear ah, one of the most dissected quatrains, how could I forget…
@Rarebear and @Jeruba : And I heard:
”... shall die without grace,
and interred neath the larch.”
Nope its just a hoax, nothing to worry
@JilltheTooth Oh…WAY better than mine.
“The book with the face
On the Ides of March
Shall die with grace
and interred neath the larch.”
You need a “be” in there for sense.
Yeah, I didn’t want to screw up the rhythm, figured the “be” was implied. XP
Meter is already irregular. But oh, well. I notice that “space” (as in “my”) would have rhymed too.
