Our favorite games:
Mario Kart
Wii Sports
Cooking Mama
Lego Star Wars
Lego Indiana Jones
Lego Harry Potter
Boom Blox
Wii Fit (which requires a Wii balance board)

My husband and two oldest kids like the Zelda games. They’re good if you like an ongoing quest type of game and don’t mind having to look up what to do online. I really think those games are impossible if you don’t use a “cheat” website.

@MissAusten Zelda is my favorite Nintendo game.

@Jude Then you’d probably love the Wii version. My daughter is in the living room playing it right now, with the laptop on the coffee table so she can look up where to go when she gets stuck! She navigates from place to place in the game, and then my son takes over to beat the “bosses!”

Some games are better for playing alone, like Zelda, while others are good for a couple of people (the Lego games), and some are fun when you have a lot of people over, like Wii Sports. My husband likes to let our guests drink for a while and then challenge them to the ski jump with Wii Fit!

Depends what you’re into
Personally, I would get the wii for only these games: Goldeneye, MadWorld, Dead Space: Extraction, and Super Smash Brothers: Brawl
I see that you’re into the Metroid series, you could get the Metroid Prime trilogy.

I like Carnival Star—All the carnival games you love and more.
Toy Story Mania
I like trivia. Kabooki and Smarty Pants are fun.
Most of my games are puzzle type games. If you like driving Mario Cart is fun.

I LOVE Epic Mikey and I am excited to try my Michael Jackson dancing game.

2 days, girl. It took you 2 days.

I’m kinda new to the Wii, so what I’ve actually played is limited. My sister loves Sports Resort, I’m kinda ‘eh’ on it, though the sword fighting is definitely fun. I’m like the only one on the planet that doesn’t like Mario Kart (but maybe that’s my ego talking, since I was creamed by a bunch of 10-year-olds).

- Rock Band or Guitar Hero
– Wii Fit (yoga!)
– LEGO – Harry Potter (puzzles), Star Wars, and Indiana Jones
– Anno (building game)
Have you tried ‘Just Dance’? It’s fun!

Also, you can download classic Nintendo games in the Wii store! I bought my Wii used and I lucked out, the previous owner has bowling, Super Mario Bros, Dig Dug, etc.

We buy games that can be played together (simultaneous play). Our favorites are:
New Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
(I am going to buy the new Donkey Kong for Wii- hopefully that will also be fun)!
