Love is like the strength of the sun which is immeasurable!
Love is taking a bite of a delicious pastry and finding a razor blade. Then spitting it out and savoring the flavor again… until the next blade. It soothes and wounds.
Love is like a sword. It protects, but if handled improperly, can cut you to shreds.
Love is like a box of chocolates…wait-wrong one…Love is like a stinging cold, refreshing and enjoyable at first, but it can be numbing if the conditions are too bad…
“To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you’re getting this down.”
– Woody Allen
The first part of love is an incredible euphoric high.
The next part of love is like waiting for your SAT scores.
Then it’s like figuring out how to solve Rubik’s cube.
Then it’s like putting on your favorite slippers and sitting before a fire with a glass of sherry in your hand.
Not necessarily in that order.
Love is like a puzzle, hard to piece together, but beautiful when all the right pieces are put together.
Pat Benetar may have been right about Love being a Battlefield too, sometimes there are casualties along the way, but there is always a Victor!
Love is like swimming on a hot summers day, you might have to fight the current, but after a while you can float along and feel the peace attained by just being.
Love is like being all full of energy, being so torqued out that you feel like running madly around, baying at the moon! At the same time, it’s like being in the warmest, most gentle place you can imagine. It’s like being high without the possibility of a bad trip. It’s like being all swept up in a religious extacsy. Then again, it’s like nothing else in life.
Oh, I like that @CaptainHarley has only positive analogy for love. You are a lucky man ♥
It’s like watching everyone else really, really enjoy something, say a popsicle. Well, shit, I want a popsicle, too!, only you can’t buy the popsicles, you have to get them from other people. So then, I go around and I ask people for a popsicle, then they hit me in the head with a brick. Or they give me something that I think is a popsicle and I’m excited, but then later on, I open it, and it’s filled with scorpions – haha, joke on me!
Love is like C4, useful, hot, occassionally explosive and if you don’t treat it right it blows up in your face.
To Love is my Life
For Love is Life
and Life is me
I thought it did bite
But I just did not see right
I thought it had fangs
But really I did not understand
And now that I see
Love is Life
and Life is me
Love is like a diamond Hard to find.
and there are lots of fakes…
Love is like a box of chocolates.
Sometimes it’s crunchy, sometimes it’s chewy, sometimes it’s sticky and goey, and once in awhile it’s solid. But if you leave it out in the sun too long it will melt. Yeah, I didn’t get that part, either.
Love is a beautiful drug flowing through your veins.
@CaptainHarley – I meant it to be kind of funny, but that is the truth. I am indeed that cynical.
Love is like a rose with thorns laced with arsenic, lovely and appealing but with a chance that you get pricked by it. Then you’re royally screwed.
Love is like an impossible analogy: it’s like nothing else.
Don’t cry for me, Argentina….
Well, hmmm… I wasn’t exactly going for pity here…
I realized long ago that some people are lucky in love and others just are not. I am one of the latter. I appreciate the sympathy, but whatcha gonna do? If I’m meant to be celibate, I’m meant to be celibate. ;)
“Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it.”
—Robert Mitchum
Love is a battlefield! :-/
Love is a cheap hotel for the weekend! :-/
Love is sharing the wet patch! :-/
Love is getting out of bed to break wind!:-/
Love is cleaning up after my cat when she pooped & missed the litter tray! :-/
Love is like a tidal wave, it can overwhelm you & leave you swamped! :-/
Oh no, it’s that wet patch again…......
@MissAnthrope
I understand what you are saying, but I don’t agree. We were all born to both give and recieve love. I have come to believe that there is someone out there who is a perfect match to who and what you are. But if you give up, you’ll never know for sure.
@MissAnthrope Love isn’t given out like a present it comes from inside us. It’s a dangerous thing, worse than scorpions, and always lies in wait.
Hey, I have lots of popsicles and I give them out freely. Just no one wants to give me any of theirs.
Love is like snowfall : beautiful, pure, and calming : with the capability to destroy, (like 5 car pile ups) inhibit, and delay (snowed in)......
Yep, I stand by my analogy. My head is still smarting from last night’s brick-bashing.
@flutherother – Your conciliatory Creamsicle almost makes up for it.
According to @Scooby, love is also like a metaphor. Don’t ask me how that works.
Love is like money, until you start handling the real stuff enough, counterfeits always fool you.
