Why are kids so fascinated with bandaids?

Even when there is nothing there. Why do kids always ask for a bandaid?

Cause the bandaids today are really cute with little fishies and cartoons on them. some kids just wanna look tough. some just like to act like they hurt themselves and they dont care.

in middle school (15 years ago) kids used to always ask for bags of ice, implicating they have a bruise or a sore, but then they would just lick the back and then drink the water.
no idea…

Because bandaids are like accessories, they draw the eye. Which is the reason I always put mine on my crotch.
Well, not really, but I think it’s sort of a fashion statement for young people, like really young. Like elementary school young.

Just think about how much they love stickers.

Because kids love everything!

for youngsters, scatches and bruises are like gold metals in honour and bravery. if you climbed the fence and fell, got chased by the dog, ran through a bush with thorns, etc…that puts you at the top of the kindergarden food chain. they just wanna look like they did something cool.

Wow this is so true!!! I teach preschool ages 4&5, and boy when someone has the smallest little scratch that isn’t even bleeding they insist they need a bandaid. Then they go and show their friends and then the friends run up to me and show me all their booboo’s that also MUST have a bandaid. And we dont even have the fun bandaids in our classroom.

Because they are amazing! Band-aids magicaly get rid of boo-boos! Plus they look cool. When I was a kid, I used to get the ninja turtle ones and put one on my forehead and pretend I was a ninja turtle!

When I was growing up, the lady across the street was a school nurse. We just had plain “ouchie” bandaids. She called them “sympathy patches”.

Because they don’t have the body hair that the grown up people have, there isn’t that horrific pain when you pull one off your toe and wax those poor little sensitive hairs… :’(

My kids (and a surprisingly large amount of other people’s kids I dealt with while substitute teaching…) would cry over the smallest cut or bruise saying how BAD it hurt and the wailing would get worse and worse until the magical bandaid came out. Somehow, just putting on the bandaid took the pain away immediately – so amazing. My kids are too old for the silly bandaids I used to buy, but I still carry around a little case with neosporin and a stack of bandaids (they are currently purple) in my purse just in case.

because when they cut themselves they then put this tape “band-aid” then magical when its removed its healed. Sounds amazing to me.
