what's a quick, cheap way to get from zurich, switzerland to lyon, france?

Asked by finkelitis (1917points) April 23rd, 2007
I found a cheap flight to Zurich in June, but I really want to get to Lyon. The train costs $114 each way. Is there a cheaper way to make the trip? Is there some budget option I don't know about? Flights look to run $250 or so.

There was a great article in the NYT this weekend about the European budget airlines. It offers some airline suggestions: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/22/travel/22journeys.html?em&ex;=1177473600&en;=b70b71c872f5b0fe&ei;=5087%0A

There was recently (like a month or so ago) an article in the New York Times about flying within Europe cheaply. It listed all these airlines. Sorry I don't have the link, but I remember seeing it.

What about the Euro Pass. Hubby got that, and the way I understand it, you can get on anyplace and go to any destination for a single reasonable price.
