I came back from Savannah and saw (all the way through) Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Thoughts on this movie?

I love the characters in the story (real life characters).
When my g/f and I were in Savannah, we met some awfully eccentric people there. Such a cool place.

Meh, what, R? You didn’t like it?
Well, guess what? “Two tears in a bucket, Mother fuck-it!”.
Not really. The look of the movie is beautiful, but the plot wasn’t all that interesting. (Oh, no. Scary gay people.) I am pretty hard to please when it comes to movies, though.
@Jude I read the book when it first came out but I haven’t seen the movie. In your opinion, is it worth watching? I really enjoyed the book. It was one of those that we passed around amongst family and friends. I love Savannah and the book’s images and people were, to me, spot on. I love true crime and this book offered that and so much more. I love that “if you don’t have anything good to say about somebody…come sit next to me” attitude.
The book was a good read but the movie for me was just so-so. It usually happens that way if I read the book first.
I enjoyed the movie, but it’s been many years since I saw it. I would love to visit Savannah.
My sisters and I read the book, then saw the movie, then took a trip to Savannah. We really enjoyed all three. The sisters gave me a two-foot tall Bird Girl statue for the garden, but I’ve kept in on the fireplace hearth.
@bkcunningham If you haven’t seen the movie yet, it’s worth putting on the list. I love the fact that the real Lady Chablis stars in the movie.
