I don’t have a source, but stress is definitely a killer. Keeping emotions bottled up seem to have a stressful effect on the body. Stress affects all kinds of hormones and physical responses. Sorry for lack of detail, maybe someone with that knowledge memorized will describe the physical effects.
Stress is a 24 hour friend with police officers. some develope ulcers, some develope migraine headaches and other just seem to accept the stress and shrugg it off without any serious complications.
All of us are different, especially in the way we handled our own stress.
DEFINATELY, sometimes it can be helpful sometimes a pain. It happens to me all the time.
It certainly can. It can cause ulcers and it can cause you to become depressed and that can cause you to do other unhealthy things. It is also a good idea to have a positive venter for stress.
I can’t keep things inside. So when I must, it has an effect.
yes. heart aches.. if it builts up it makes it worst. I wish someone also shares how to handle keeping things inside.
Yes. The most common for me are sharp stomach pains and a hard time sitting up straight. The latter is not from pain but from sadness dragging me down. (It’s always sadness or upset that I’m keeping inside.)
Yes. When I don’t confide or share then I notice I get rashes, upset stomach, insomnia, my sweat seems to smell stronger to me.
Definitely. High stress levels can damage your heart, your digestive system, even your kidneys, and some medical experts are now saying that it can help cause early onset of Alzheimerz, and can help cause cancer.
An excellent stress-reliever is strenuous exercise.
I get heart palpitations and want to sleep a lot. I usually don’t realize I’m stressed until my body tells me.
I think it can if holding something in causes more stress than talking about it or “letting it out.” And sometimes it can be more stressful to let things out than to hold them in. I think it depends on the person and the circumstances.
it tends to make my forehead sweat.
Yes. Look uo the cancer personality, amongst other health related emotional issues.
Repressed emotions, anger, grief etc, are DEADLY. Another good reason to do your ‘work.’
It has been shown that those that experience severe stress such as divorce, death, job loss, etc. are extremely high risk for developing serious health issues such as cancer within about a 2–3 year period.
I have made low stress/peace/serenity the #1 goal of my life the past 7 years or so.
My mantra is that there is NO person, job, relationship, that is worth ‘suffering’ over.
I am very protective of my peace.
I always hold things inside.
It gets to the point to where my soul is feeling like its being torn apart,
So probably not good.
When I am stressed in a certain way, acting against how I really feel, I develop a very itchy rash.
@Cruiser
Yeah, but so do liberals. So what else is new? ROFLMAO!
@cockswain
Why should I not laugh at my own jokes. That way I know that at least one person thinks they’re funny! : D
I don’t know. Maybe you should write the funniest book you’ve ever read.
@cockswain
Um… On Irish Nobility? French War Heros? How about “I Was a Cockswain For the FBI?” : )
