Why not go with the obvious? Cleo’s Vintage Aprons. That way, the customer knows by your name what your business is about.

I’m English, but we used to call aprons Pinnies… I don’t know if you use the same phrase where you are. Pinnies is such a vintage word though too.

Precious Pinnies.

Just in case you decide to branch out at some point (matching dish towels, potholders and hot pads, table linens), maybe you’d do well to choose a name that’s not too narrow, for example, Cleo’s Home Crafts.

“Cleo’s V-prons” (small letters below makers of finely made vintage aprons) Or something to this extent.

“Vintage Home”
“Retro Style”
“Retro Home”
“Vintage Style by Cleo”
“House Wear by Cleo”
“Kitchen Clothing by Cleo”

The Vintage Kitchen. I think this is good cuz it has the reoccurring vowel sound which rings nicely. I would stay away from using your first name in the business moniker.

Before you commit to a name, you might also want to consider what vintage actually means. Yes, I know how it’s commonly used; but the word actually refers to the year of a grape harvest or the age of the wine made from that crop. It doesn’t even mean “old”: last year’s crop is vintage 2010.

If you’re trying to say “old-fashioned” or “Grandma’s style” or “antique design” or “quaint-looking,” you might want to think of another word that’s closer to your actual meaning.

Please post an update as to what name you use, and if you have a website please let us know. Maybe some of us would like to buy some vintage-looking aprons!

I’m really into Mad Men at the moment. I think it would be cool to buy vintage aprons (or other kitcheny things). As JCA said, please let us know.

Thank you all for such great suggestions! You all have been so helpful and I really appreciate your input. But I have to say that my favorite is “Apron Strings”....thanks BarnacleBill!
