Can you Recommend a good "Zombie" book?

Asked by coffeenut (6174points) January 19th, 2011

For all you that enjoy the “Zombie” theme…..What are some books that you think are good?

A friend of mine got me hooked on Zombies…lol So I’m looking for a book with a storyline (unlike the “Zombie Apocalypse” format) and would like it to be at least 200+ pages…

Books I’ve already read are:

-Zombie Apocalypse
-Resident Evil “books on movies”
-Resident Evil “books on games”
-World War Z
-The Rising
-City of the Dead
-Dead Sea
-Zombie Survival Guide
-Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Any help would be appreciated….

I think you’ve covered most of the basics. Isn’t there a graphic novel zombie series? I forget the name of it.

Read just two pages of this & it’ll surely feel like it was penned by the undead :¬(

The Walking Dead comics which the AMC serial is based on is good, as others have mentioned.

“I am Legend” by Richard Matheson is very, very good.

Day By Day Armageddon, By JL Bourne. I have never read it but my boyfriend has. He said it is very good, realistic & it was written by a guy in the military who is currently in Iraq. He uses his military background to depict an engaging day by day struggle of someone trying to survive a zombie infestation. He highly recommends it. A great book site is Shelfari btw. :)

Personally, I like The Forest of Hands and Teeth. I read and enjoyed the second book in the series, too, and I have the third one pre-ordered. It’s kind of like Twilight, only with zombies instead of vampires and werewolves, and the author can actually write. (I know, that doesn’t sound like much of an endorsement. But it is a quick and intriguing read, really.)
