I'm trying to piece together a cheap cowboy outfit for my son's birthday (he will be 4). Does brown go with black?
I have found some great outfits I think he will like. He is very particular, and what I mean by that is he has strong feelings about what constitutes girl’s stuff and boys stuff. He thinks that the cow print items look like girls stuff, etc.
It’s been easy to find individual items, but not all in one color. I know of a certain pair of boots and a cowboy hat he wants, which are black.
Would a darker brown cowboy outfit go with that? I’m a little out of my league, and I want to show my wife that I can pick out clothing type stuff for my boys that shows some taste. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Absolutely. It’s a cowboy outfit for a 4-year old. Real cowboys, frankly, don’t really give a s*** about the color coordination (I have some relatives, lol). If you think he will like it, then go with it.
I was thinking that too nope. I can’t see some tough cowboy looking at his brown chaps and wondering if they will go with the black boots he wants to wear today. Although there are undoubtedly some that do. I think your little boy will be so thrilled you made him a cowboy outfit Zag, he won’t care what colour it is. Be prepared he may want to wear it to go anywhere and everywhere though. I had a nurses outfit when I was little and insisted on wearing it everywhere. I do think that is preferable to the mouse suit I made for my daughter’s ballet concert that my four year old son found and insisted on wearing for months… sighs .. he looked cute though :-)
I think that sounds fine, and fun!
Indubitably! If a cowboy can get away with teal, he can get away with any color. Seriously, black and brown are great for the little buckaroo.
Don’t forget the bandana for around his neck.
Sure! Neither 4-year-olds nor cowboys care whether colours clash.
his mom makes a big deal about the boy’s clothes matching, heh, hence my concern. Naturally, I never matched in such outfits growing up, because my parents didn’t care. Yea, @BarnacleBill , he has the bandanna already, good call though. =p
