Hey @Jay484… what age range are the kids in question? Is this a holiday camp? How long would you like the topic to last for? As in, are you looking for something for them to focus on for a morning, a day, or for an entire camp?
Presumably you’re looking for topics that could encompass different computer skills, but what level of skills or types of skills are these?
When I used to teach a class of seven year olds, they happened to be a class that were mad on football (soccer) and in the lead up to the world cup I focussed many different lessons around it… it allowed me to cover maths, writing, stats, geography, even some level of history etc etc…
its only for about an hour….. age groups vary usually 5–12….. i i’m doing one on ww2 so and i have allready done one on ww1 so
@Jay484 just a qualifying question…You are teaching 5–12 year old about WWII and WWI?
that one was for about age 8— 12 and it was not too bad
Hmmm, well, with an age group of 5 to 12 Yr olds I would suggest something that would not only teach them something but that they would want to learn about, something that they would have fun with, like Astronomy, maybe even have them research a certain event in history regarding space exploration…. they could learning to do research on a computer as well as writing papers on it and perhaps even have them do a timeline or something of the sort on excel… then your using quite a few aspects of the computer, but also they are learning about something that will fascinate them… of course Dinosaurs and stuff like that would be just as intriguing to them… I’ll think on it, maybe I can think of some more topics…. good luck!
There are many choice in your area, just type cyber camp and your town or county.
