I’m reluctant to share this with you because it makes it seem like I’m obsessed or something. It’s just that there’s so much access to so much information that I spend most of my work day and a lot of my non-work days in front of the screen. Maybe eight hours a day? Give or take.
Too many, though even if I was off I’d doubt I’d do anything much more important.
I go out cycling, do work outs, read, watch TV, think of problems and answers, learn, etc, the internet is a hub for most of these things. I remember Stephen Fry saying how in the 19th century people were complaining how children were reading too much and didn’t go out and play more. Now I hate analogies or trying to link one thing to another like this but the internet isn’t that bad, it depends on how long you spend on there and what you do.
The time between when I wake up and when I go to sleep, minus one or two hours that I spend shopping, eating and doing tasks.
In the last 10 years or so (since the internet came out), I have been online for at least 2 hours a day. and in the last 24 years, I have been on a computer of some kind for at least 4 hours a day.
When I was a kid my excuse was that it was fun, now that I’m grown up my excuse is that It’s work… and fun.
about 4–5 hours…depending if I’m not doing anything else..lol.
Just about an hour in total, but I log on a few times in the day.
Around eight hours a day. Probably just short of that. It would be more if I didn’t have school.
It varies, of course. One day, in the summer, I spent about 12 hours on one website without leaving my computer chair except to eat, use the restroom, etc.
1–2 hours, with a few exceptions here and there.
I work online so way too many… I don’t want to add it up. I might get depressed.
Probably two or three. I go online when I’m supposed to be getting to bed. But when I’m online I’m usually also working on something at the same time, like writing or drawing. My desk is a big jumble of cords, books, art supplies, wine, and notebooks, and I jump from activity to activity while listening to music or watching TV. Definitely not organized, but doing this for a little while is really relaxing!
I used to spend upwards of 12 hours on the internet, with various Q & A sites, my Wikipedia volunteer work, the various blogs I visit and such, but lately I cut back to about 3 or 4 hours a day total.
