I stopped watching when Scrappy Doo came on the scene.

haha but before were most the things that they did, impossible in real-life??

Why would it be realistic? I’m pretty sure that if it were, it’d be pretty boring. That’s pretty much the point of cartoons…

Im sure some were possible. I am sure all of the ghosts and Indian warrior chiefs from the past werent though! Also, I don’t think you could realistically eat as much as Shaggy and Scoob do.

Can dogs talk?

giggles's avatar

Haha yah the whole eating thing is a big NO, NOO!!! But way that everything happens when they are trying to catch the ghost and bad guys, is just so unreal and crazy!!!

My dogs REALLY try to talk.

I love the way they try to run away but their legs move too fast so they get stuck in place for a second. Can’t forget the awesome sound effect too =p

They do force me to suspend an awful lot of my beliefs. The spooky effect is all real, however.

Are you kidding me??? There is No way Scooby Doo is fake! I would have gotten away with so many things if it weren’t for those meddling kids!

Not many cartoons are patterened after real life. There is that one that takes a bunch of different kinds of cartoons and puts them in a “Real Life” setting. I can’t think of the name of it though.

haha now i too absolutly love scooby doo!!! Its a good cartoon series!!!

Yeah I thought the paint job on the Mystery Machine looked too good to be true. What a bunch of fakes…

I don’t see why anyone would think a cartoon is real? That’s what’s so cool about them. When I was little I’ve always wanted to try the “scooby snacks”. =)

yo scooby-doo’s mad chill, i can remember sitting in my living room, after school, like 4th or 5th grade, watching it on WB. Good Times

I was ok with the talking dog but I thought the orange ascot was pushing it…

Funny, I just had this conversation with my 5 and 7-year old sons…they seem to agree-this cartoon (their favorite btw) is fantasy; all of it.

Perhaps a point of confusion may be that in the later seasons of the show, they began to have “guests” on the show that were celebrities-The Harlem Globetrotters, Three Stooges, Jonathan Winters (?!)...at any rate, this “schtick” may be the only part where one could possibly be confused by the lines blurring.

Lastly, anyone wonder why Scooby and Shaggy are always so hungry? (Anyone old-skool will get the reference lol). Enjoy.

stevenb's avatar

@sndfreQ. There is NO mystery there. Like sweet doobage Scoob!!!

Scooby-doobie-Doo!

giggles's avatar

haha wow really?? Is that why they’re hungry all the time??

stevenb's avatar

Uh-yeah!!! Of course LOL

giggles's avatar

haha oh i never knew that!!! but it makes complete sense now!!!!!!

ScoobyDoo was the single greatest cartoon ever made, imo. I loved that cartoon growing up. It told a story, made you laugh, and taught you wrong from right. You shouldn’t do wrong or you’ll be caught by those meddling kids. Although being a kid and not knowing of such things, I’m sure ‘some’ of their awesome ‘adventures’ or ‘trips’ were a direct effect in correlation to those scrumptious Scooby snacks. Scooby-Doobie-Doo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
