I’m considering canceling my AAA for a group that’s less anti-environment. Anyone have experience with Better World Club or others? Do the alternatives give discounts at body shops?

I used Better World Club for a while (my car insurance now includes this, so I stopped using BWC). They were brand new then, so they had a few hiccups, but I’d definitely recommend them.
They had a pretty decent list of comparable discounts, though I can’t vouch for body shops. I suspect contacting them about a particular shop and you might have some success. Ultimately, I just felt a lot better about BWC than AAA, so I’d say go for it.
I first heard of Beter World Club through the link from NPR’s Car Talk program website: the link from them will get you a 10% Discount
@hearkat: Do you use them? Have you needed their services yet? Are they responsive? I was a little disheartened when I called them this weekend and I got a machine.
Sorry – no. I am on a family member’s plan, so I haven’t needed my own coverage in a while. Was the number you called for emergency services or just for subscription information? I’ll bet they have different numbers for different purposes.
I used to have Amoco – I don’t know what name they go by nowadays, but they outsourced to India, and trying to communicate with someone with a thick accent (and I’m pretty good with accents) on the other side of the world when I’m already flustered because of a breakdown was incredibly frustrating.
