How many true friends do you have?
I was once told ‘if you can count on one hand the number of true friends you have then you are a rich man’.
I have two really good friends who are always there for me, through the good and bad times, listen to me, and always have a shoulder to cry on.
What about you?

3. We would do anything for each other – anything.
I have a handful of true friends.
I have 3 very close friends that I’ve known for more than 20 years and those 3 are the ones that will always be there for me if I need them, are faithful, honest, caring, and genuine. They’re great people.
Four: My husband, ex Sister-in-law, childhood friend, and a former co-worker. I can trust them with anything.
A lot. I am still in touch with a good dozen or so of my Fraternity brothers I consider true friends and hung out with 5 of them last night and have 2 other really special friends that I know all would do anything and everything for me at the drop of a hat.
3. One is 18. One is my age (16) and one is younger than me (15) and I tell them everything and really trust them.
Fewer than I’d like, probably more than I deserve, and thankful for every one I have.
Six and a grea husband – I am very blessed.
Including my hubby, I would say I have 4 true friends, with a possible 5th.
I have only one true friend, she Knows me inside out, top to bottom, front to back….. :-/
A close second would be my sister but there some things brother & sister should never discuss. My best pal, buddy, mate or bro, well he’s no longer with us…. I do miss that guy….. Lots of acquaintances / friends but just the one true one…
@worriedguy Yes someone who will do anything for you is indeed a true friend
@Cruiser That’s so nice to know, thanks
@lucillelucillelucille You are so very fortunate :)
@Austinlad I am sure you deserve each and every friend you have <3
@coffeenut Any reason you are losing a friend?
@janbb Yes isn’t it a lovely feeling to have good friends?
@WillWorkForChocolate You just can’t put a price on true friendship can you?
@Scooby I am sure that one true friend is worth their weight in gold, thanks
@partyparty No, you can’t. A true friend will stay on the phone, even to listen to you cry. A true friend will always tell you the truth, even if it may sting. A true friend will call you out on bullshit. An amazing true friend will tell you, “That really makes your ass look fat”. :P
@WillWorkForChocolate You said it exactly how it is and should be. Thanks for that.
Equally I am always there for my friends – even when the truth hurts – but they do understand :)
Thanks, @partyparty. I have one very special new lifelong friend, I think my best friend, whose name pops up on Fluther a lot. She knows who she is.
@Austinlad Do they play a stringed instrument by any chance? :))
Two. My wife and an old Army buddy.
@Austinlad This is not meant as an insult in any way but you are pretty darn obvious these days! Why your avatar positively glows!
TONS, but I rarely get to see them.
Including my partner, I have two best friends and a couple more beyond that of true friends.

@janbb… I take that as a “glowing” compliment. Thank you.
Two. One is my partner. The other is a guy I met the same week as I met my partner. I’m pretty sure that if I didn’t end up with the one I got, I’d have ended up with the other.
I really like this question because it made me think about all the wonderful people I have in my life. While normally I would say that I don’t have a lot of close friends, (3–5 of which I don’t even see or talk to often) I know that there are at least ten people in my life who always have my back. I am truly blessed.
I have 2 my fiancée, and my best friend.
If I didn’t have their support, I have no clue, if I would be the person I am today.
Not including family, there are only a few people that would do almost anything to help me out in a bad situation. They would be there if I really needed them, but I do not see or talk to them that often. That said, I believe I only have ‘true’ friends. The rest are acquaintances. I was never one for superficial friendships anyway. I was always very picky about my friends, though it doesn’t help that I don’t get out too often (as a way of making new friends).
1 true friend…I’m not very social lol…
Besides the the wife and kids?
Two.
Including my wife, 1. Just her.
7…plus the dog….always a best friend
my Mom, willie, nan, john, amy ,TJ, tracey
zero. someone who has been my friend recently thru a really bad time, i just found out knew the truth about my really bad time and neglected to tell me.
1 true friend. We’d do anything for each other. We call each other “Broski.” It’s our inside joke since we don’t know what the term for girls would be. :P
@noelleptc @downtide Yes we are very fortunate to have ‘true’ friends – always there for us.
@Ellis1919 Wow you are very fortunate indeed
@shego Yes a really good friend always backs us up don’t they?
@glenjamin Yes there is a distinct difference between aquaintances and true friends aren’t there?
@xjustxxclaudiax One true friend is better than many acquaintances don’t you think?
@jazmina88 Oh yes, we mustn’t forget our furry friends. Always loyal to us aren’t they?
@captainsmooth That must be really awful for you, so sorry :))
@ducky_dnl Exactly how it should be, thanks
I’ve got a good handful collected through the yea.rs. I feel fortunate
I think I have 2 real friends I can always count on- my bff from high school and my husband. I always knew the man I end up with has to be a good friend before anything else. I still hang with some of my old friends from high school, but most of the time I prefer being with my family, they are the best friends you can have.
@partyparty I think I have at least 13, but I only get to see them over the summer because we work at a summer camp.
In real life, one.
Online, a few.
I have 6 good friends that are friends for life.
@partyparty I know. For years and years. The kind that know everything about me, and don’t hold anything against me. Good friends.
