What kind of dog do you like?

I like Great Danes.

…but nothing beats cuddling in with my mutts. ;)

I like German Shepherd Dogs.They are smart and beautiful.

I love my dingo and akita and little brown dog. See avatar!!! Truthfully I like smart intuitive dogs, ones who think and get into trouble because they are too smart for their own good. Now this is not to be confused with trainability because they are not at all the same thing. Although usually if you raise a smart dog properly, it will be trainable as well!

I love my dog, I don’t know what he is… a bit of a liquorice all sort, from a dog rescue shelter!!
But I love any dog that has a bit of personality and spark about them.

I love Labs. They have a great personality. My own dog is a lab mix.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are one of my favorite dogs, but I have my sights on getting an Anatolian Shepherd when we settle in to our new home.

I love rescue dogs of any breed.
Mine is a North American Brown Dog… she’s a very exclusive breed- I’ve never seen one just like her. :)
I also like boxers a lot. My next dog might be a rescue boxer, but in general I find the idea of designer dogs and purebreds ridiculous unless you need a dog for a specific function like scent hounding or herding.

I love bird dogs like German Shorthair Pointers.

I love German Shepherds.

I really love any kind of dog.

I like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels..I have never had a dog though. I also love dogs that are black and white spotted for some strange reason. Not too big though, only small and medium sized.

I love any dog that is well-behaved, friendly and has a bark that isn’t yippy.

Bassett Hounds. I had one for almost ten years. She was great.

I have a Maltese/Havanese now and she’s very sweet.

I just have to say it, designer dogs are not mutts. They are specifically bred usually combining 2 pure breeds to create a mutt because PETA and others like them have convinced many that a pure bred dog is a bad thing. I love mutts, I have 2 but I also am aware that when I adopt a mutt I have no idea if the parents were health checked. I have no idea if SAS or PRA or dysplasia is in the ancestry. I have little idea of what sort of coat, long or short, the dog will have, if it will be lab sized or terrier sized.

When I want a new dog for my pack (which will be a pack of 2 humans and 1 dog when my 2 oldies die) I will adopt a mixed breed if I fall in love with one (such as I did with my dingo) or I will go to a reputable breeder, one who breeds specifically for show or work and buy a dog who will be a healthy, stable representative of its breed. It probably won’t cost as much as a designer dog and if I adopt from a breed specific rescue the cost will be even more minimal. The breeder will check my background and have me sign a contract that says if I find myself incapable of keeping the dog, they want it back. No hunting for an adoptive family, no dropping it off at the SPCA, BRING IT BACK TO ME!

Please do not get into this mutt snobbery, it is not always the best way for everyone.

I have a labradoodle…. he’s cool.

My blue heeler/black lab mix are the only dogs I’ve ever had. Always was a cat lover before these two. I’ll stick with these two until they are no longer with us. Nothing can replace them.

Both are very cute have hilarious personalities. I love dogs with mushy faces and great personalities.

I lover terriers. Specifically Westies and Scotties. When I finally get my own place and can get a dog, I’m going to get one of each and name them Pons and Oire

I have a few breeds that I consider favourites. I love Skye Terriers (I like all the Scottish breeds but the Skye is my favourite) especially but also Bull Terriers (of all shapes and sizes), German Shepherds, Rottweilers and Pointers (wire haired specifically).

I have a Staffordshoire Bull Terrier and a Jack Russell Terrier but was raised with Flatcoacted Retrievers.
