With technology evolving faster than I can type, how do you keep up with the newest toys without going bankrupt?

I am happy with my old toys. I replace my camera if it breaks, not because a cooler one comes out. But I do drool.

I read about them, but I generally don’t buy them. Think about male fascination about sports cars. I don’t go out and buy the ferrari, but I definetly admire them.

Stick to one type of toy.

I usually hoard money for long periods of time and am surprised when I realize how much I have at any given point or time. Then I go find something lovely to get. I don’t read about the potential toys too often.

I do, however, have perpetual shopping carts on thinkgeek and on amazon that I occasionally splurge on, and then bounce around until they arrive.
(I just did an amazon splurge a few days ago. Books will be here soon. Eeeeeeek.)

I have invested in a USB mic and a high-powered dictation tool called MacSpeech Dictate (it’s about 95 percent accurate); I have practically stopped typing on my Mac.

Sorry if that was a spammy response.

Do lots of research and buy the best gadgets with a low depreciation rate (think iPod) so you can sell it after a year or so and recoup some of the money and buy a new toy.

i think that you sohould only buy what you realy need , and just keap it at that if you dont need something dont buy it that way you dont have to keep up with all the tecnology

You have to be happy with what you have purchased at that time. Trying to keep up with the speed of technology will, as you asked, lead you to bankruptcy. If you have purchased something that can do what you need it to do, maybe a little extra ;), then stick with that for as long as you can! :)

I watch the home shopping network and not buy. I surf dell and see what the new computers are and not buy.
