Do you think the question is indicative of the poster?
When you see a question posed by someone do you believe it is about some problem the poster has and not just a question contrived from conversation with family, coworkers, or random strangers during the day? Unless they classify it as purely hypothetical what makes you believe it isn’t?

I guess I assume it is something related to the posters own life. But, I know I have posted questions for my husband or for a friend, and did not say it was for them. Or, heard something in conversation, and am curious what others think. So, the assumption a question is about the posters own life is not always a good guess.
I don’t ask questions as often because of this reason. I’ve always gotten responses for some of rhetorical questions. So, now my questions are quite generic as to not have any association other than being the person who posted the question.
I don’t see every question here as a problem the OP has per se but I do see almost every question and answer as a direct reflection of that Jelly. After a while you get to see the personalities come forth and that is half the fun in participating with some of the Jellies here. ;)
Often, yes. Not always. @Cruiser is right. I think after a long enough stretch of time you begin to see the personalities unfold, it plays a large part in how likely I am to jump to conclusions about a particular question.
I haven’t been on Fluther consistently like I used to, but with the posters I do know…I know who posts real life situations, and they usually put a “just for fun” or “hypothetical” when it’s not about them.
I post a lot of questions that deal with my personal life.
Just realized I said rhetorical instead of hypothetical. Man I really am sick. :(
Sometimes
Most of the questions I have asked are because I needed a real answer, rather than an opinion.Although I have asked a few of those just out of curiosity.
As for really knowing what someone is all about ? It is actions more than words that determine that for me. ;)
I think it’s pretty clear which of my questions are from real life and which are speculative. They’re different kinds of questions.
Most of my 750 or so questions have been crappy and they are indeed indicative of the poster.
I enjoy your questions, zen
