If you could die in the arms of a famous historical person or fictional character, whom would you choose?
I would choose Alexander the Great.

Oh, Edward Cullen! I’m just kidding. :p
I think it would have to be..uh…why did you have to say Alexander the Great? :P
Hmm… Sherlock Holmes! :D
Certainly not someone from the Donner party.
I need to think about this one a bit more. I’ll come back. Great Q btw. :)
General George S. Patton, after being victorious in a fierce battle against the Germans. : )
LOL! @FutureMemory Really!
How about in the arms of General Robert E. Lee after the battle of Gettysburg?
That’s a tough one. Maybe Edgar Allan Poe, or Abe Lincoln.
Victor Frankenstein (who, by the way, in the novel was neither a doctor nor a Baron), Why? Because he would have at least tried to give me a shot at immortality. ;-)
Historical-Jesus
Fictional-Jay Gatsby
Fictional – The 10th Doctor
Historical – I’d have to think about it.
Historical: Jesus
Fictional: Hamlet
General John J. “Blackjack” Pershing.
He was so badass, he would have used my lifeless corpse as a sword to behead Pancho Villa after I died.
My first thought was Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series. He’s both historical and fictional; I think that works.
Historical-Jesus
Fictional-Aladdin ;)
Fictional – Solitaire from Live and Let Die
Historical would have to be Halle Barry
Dieing won’t be so bad after all! ;)
I would choose Jesus he his the only other I love more than anyone else.
Fictional—doesn’t fiction mean it’s not true? So I could say my husband was a prince I’d die in his arms and I’d still be right no?
To both questions, Jesus. Fictional Jesus could potentially bring me back to life. Historical Jeshua would be a comforting presence, and I know I’d be taken well care of by the apostles.
Alternately: Historical- Captain Richard “Dick” Winters link as this means I could’ve served with a true American hero, and I know I would’ve been extremely honoured.
Fictional: Batman or Bruce Wayne. Awesome.
God because he could make me immortal.
fictional : jacob black
historical ; jesus DEFINITELY
@Seelix Yes, I’d be picking Jamie too- they seemed to share a fine sex life. Wait, I’m just dying with him, right? Maybe Claire will fix me.
After I died I would probably like to die at one of the greek gods hands so I could become immortal.
hawaii jake Just curious, why would you pick Alexander the great?
Having noted that the answer Jesus was such a popular one, I thought maybe some people would enjoy this song. It was written and is being sung by Aiofe O’Donovan from the Newgrass group “Crooked Still”- It’s called Ecstasy and it is a really beautiful song. The video is not the best for sound quality but it’s the only one with the original cello player that the song was recorded with, Rashad Eggleston. Their current cello player is excellent also but has a whole different style than Rashad. Rashad’s playing actually inspired groupies!! So if you like the song I highly recommend the CD-“Shaken By A Low Sound”

Further piece of Crooked Still trivia-The banjo player, Greg Liszt played with Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions tour. Out of all those who auditioned he got the spot. He is excellent!
@Earthgirl : Alexander the Great was, as were many Greek men at the time, in love with another man. I happen to be gay, and I think dying in his arms would mean that we’d shared a life of love, work, battle, and excitement together. That’s a very nice way of saying that I might be in lust with the man given the chance. :)
hawaii jake I see, I see….and so your fictional choice might be Russell Crowe in Gladiator? Or does he only appeal to women?
hawaii jake I’m right with you there…what the hell is it about him. do you think??or shouldn’t I ask?
@Earthgirl : I really don’t know, but he’s got it.
If the human species lasts long enough, about 5 billion years from now we’ll have to move to another planet.
Sometime way after that, I’d like to die in the arms of the leader of New Earth.
