You have to give a speech/talk or perform a song or give a concert: no-one shows up save a for only a few people... the show must go on?

How few/many people would you require to continue/cancel?
How would you react (not feel – as everyone would feel crappy)?

I’ve been in a couple of bands, actually, and we were never exactly rockin’ the house, but there was always a decent crowd. There were some times though that we’d perform with a group of other bands ahead of us and by the time we got to play there was only the bartenders left or something. We still played though. I guess canceling just wasn’t an option because we wanted to play (except when we were drunk as hell or something, but even then). As far as a reaction… “dgaf, just do it”. It was fun.
But if this was a speech I had to do? Unless there was at least 15 people there, I’d cancel. I guess it depends on how much I wanted to do whatever I’m supposed to be doing in the first place.
I used to run workshops for students. Even if only one or two came along I would sit down and talk to them about the topic and in fact they got a personalised workshop.
Lol I wouldn’t care ..I’d continue with the show. Less people can often times be much more fun and meaningful.
I’d always do something; but if there are 5 people instead of 500 I would adapt my speech so we could have more discussion or so on. It might be that we end earlier and take it to the cafe/bar, but if even a few people bothered to show, obviously they care enough.
If I was there with an band / ensemble, we’d treat it as a time to jam together!
