Superbowl -- Does it matter to you of your team beat both those in the final contest?

I know I am disappointed that the Patriots slipped up in the playoffs after a stellar season. I know we could beat either of the teams in the final, because we did. I know—it is what it is. Each game in the playoffs is a potential end-of-season event.
How do you feel? Did your team make short work of the Green Bay Packers and/or the Pittsburgh Steelers only to have to sit at home and watch them play for the Superbowl?

@ETpro What you know is that the Patriots didn’t win when it mattered. They will not be the champions this year.
I like both of the teams in the Super Bowl, and I will be content with a victory by either one. I expect a good game.
(pssst -typo in question ET)
I do not like either team, so i will not be watching the Superbowl this year.
The Patriots not making it to the Superbowl was victory enough for me. Hooray!
@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities ditto!
It’s a nice thought. Oh, we beat both of these teams, we could have won the superbowl….but that logic doesn’t really work. The Jets beat the Steelers in the regular season, but they couldn’t do it when it mattered. You never know what’ll happen.
Go Stillers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be cheering on the Packers for two reasons: One, it’s my friend Kandi’s favorite team. And she would do the same for me. The other is that my husband is a huge Browns fan and for him, I will be against the Steelers. But for me, I truly do not care.
I don’t know that the Saints had enough juju to get to the Super Bowl, but losing to Seattle? Give me a fucking break.
And Seattle’s last touchdown run could not have looked more scripted.
I want Green Bay to take it because my old wrestling coach played for Green Bay. Go Packers!!!!
@kevbo Yes, it was a beautiful thing even to Matt Hasselbeck throwing the last block. I loved it.
my only interest is because my numbers in the $20 per square pool are 7 and 0.
I’ll be hiking on Sunday afternoon.
I will be rooting for the Steelers. Why? Because they are the rival of my team the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are one of the worst team in the NFL and I know why the Steelers go to Superbowls and the Bengals don’t. The Steelers are a tough team and play to win. The Bengals never work as a team and have front office that is ran by chimps. I want the Bengals to make it to the Superbowl but I know that is a very slim chance since it seams that they don’t try to win. They are the “Bungals” for a reason. I am one of the few Bengal fans who do not hate the Steelers. I think Bengal fans hate the Steelers because they are jealous. They wish they had a team like the Steelers. I have been a Bengal fan all my life and that is because I that is my home team. I don’t live in the city of Cincinnati but close enough for them to be my hometown team. The only time I root against the Steelers is win the Bengals are having a good season which doesn’t happen very often. That said, I love it when the Bengals do beat these 2 teams which does occasionally happen believe it or not.
(ahem) First, @ETpro, the Patriots barely squeaked by the Mighty Pack because we were without Aaron Rodgers that day. Our backup nearly beat you, so there’s no real beat down there. Second, you guys beat the Pack by 4 points, which was the greatest number of points any team beat them by.
Therefore, there were no teams that made “short work” of the Pack.
We will claim our rightful trophy and bring it home in two days.
One final point: outside of New England, the rest of the nation loathes the Patriots.
What @cockswain said and:
It’s awfully hard to understand what you’re saying with your lips all puckered up from all those sour grapes.
For the record the Packers shut out the Jets. Why couldn’t New England?
OK, All you guys kick me when I am down, typo and all. :-)
But the Packers do have a GREAT story behind them. They are the only small town team lets in the NFL. Once upon a time all little cities had a pro team. But the big cities bought them all up. They are the only non-profit in the NFL. They are owned by small stockholders. The team can be sold, but its corporate charter prohibits retention of any profits from sale. And the stock pays no dividends. It is strictly a publicly owned non-profit.
I love the Steelers too. They are a working town team as are the Packers. It’s a great match-up. But with their incredible history, I have to hope the Pack is Back.
@ETpro Now you’re talking! One more day.
We crushed the dreams of dog torturist extraordinaire Michael Vick. We will now take down Rapistberger.
@Brian1946 hahaha! them too! I do love Jerry Stiller. What a guy.
